No sleep
Our neighbor situation is getting increasingly bad and loud. Their new baby screams and screams throughout the night and it sounds like their two year old is throwing tantrums in response to the new baby. She like howls at all hours...like a very loud, very forced cry.Kieran and I bumped into them in the hallway last night and they were like 'we're so sorry things have been loud - is it bothering you guys?' and we looked at each other and said 'nope - no worries....' at the same time in response. We feel badly because they're a cute young family with a 5 day old baby but its really impacting the way we were sleeping.
Just got a text from kieran that said 'we need a house...'

Re: No sleep
I wouldn't have lied. Now your only recourse is smothering the children with pillows.

Re: No sleep
I wouldnt have lied either .. Maybe they would think about moving the baby's crib away from your bedroom so that it reduces the noise. Now they will never know unless you tell them otherwise.

Re: No sleep
i think you did the right thing... even though you lied they know its affecting you... just the fact that they brought it up says something... if you told the truth it would have made them feel worse... eventually it will stop... its one of the drawbacks of living in an apartment bld...earplugs work

Re: No sleep
i know. we shouldn't have lied but we were weak and sleep deprived.it is SO not like kieran to lie and play nice. Me, sure. But him, no way -not his style.
after discussing why we did it we both said the same thing - what the eff are they going to do to change things? we live in a 1 bedroom and they live in a 2 bedroom with both bedrooms butting up against ours. they have a newborn and a toddler. what the eff is our complaining gonna do? they just moved in 1.5 weeks ago.

Re: No sleep
You should drink a bottle of wine before bed...it will help and use ear plugs...ETA: Complaining would not have helped. I am sure the parents would like a night of sleep also. Just stinks that it is affecting you guys.

Re: No sleep
Eek that sucks. I probably would've lied, too. Like you said, what can they do? It sucks, but I'm sure it's just as frustrating for them!

Re: No sleep
the 2 year sounds like a demon. i'm surprised i haven't had nightmares yet with like monsters and gremlins. you can tell she is not crying but rather screaming and throwing fits. ahh parenthood.the couple looks like they haven't slept in 2 years.
oh and sidenote, stewie, their dog....got off the leash and ran in our apartment while we were busying lying....slash almost took his eye out.
ya, we need a house.
