Non-gifters

Non-gifters

So, here we are, 5 days from our first Anniversary (yay!) and a few people very close to DH and I have yet to give a gift.

For a while, I really didn't care, but one of them was a GM.

Should we say something, or just let it go? I mean, the best part was that they were there to celebrate our day with us. . .but still. . .

Ahhh 7 months later I am in the same predicament. Honestly I just let it go. Unfortunately some people I think just assume that if you are in the BP you dont have to give anything. The worse (at least for me ) were the tons of guests that 'forgot' their cards and will give them to me next time I see them.

I don't know... I kinda felt bad accepting gifts from my BM & GM because they spent so much money ALREADY, having to be in my wedding... you know?

oh, we TOTALLY had a ton of those 'will get ya next times' too. . . so frustrating.

Whatever, we all had a blast that day, and maybe I'm a horrible person for sounding greedy, but if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be MORTIFIED!

Actually DH's best man didnt give us a gift but we dont hold it against him because you have to take into consideration all the money they spent just participating. Just let it go.

You can't say anything, they weren't obligated to give a gift technically, AND they spent money to be in your BP. You just gotta let it go.

I would let it go. Esp since it has been a year. I can't imagine not giving a gift at a wedding, esp if I was IN it, but you just never know what other people's situations are.

You're all 100% right!

as much as it hurts that they didn't even give you a card or have the decency to get you something small just for the thought, unfortunitly you probably shouldnt say anything as a gift is technically not required. But its still hurtful all the same.

Oh, exactly. And believe me, everyone in the wedding party went above and beyond their 'call of duty' especially given the fact that it was a Friday wedding.

I'm completely going to let it go. . .but you're right. At least a card would have been nice.

I think almost all of us have had to deal with no-gifters...I would let it go because there's not much you can do It doesn't mean it's easy to do and that it doesn't hurt though...one of my longtime friends came to my wedding and RD and didn't give one or a card. I would have been OK with it except she kept telling me she was sending it. I vented here and let it go.

at this point i'd definitely let it go. A few people didn't give us gifts either, but at this point, I've moved on and have much bigger things to worry about (although it definitely still bothers me!)
