Re: North Carolina
My sister lives there and works as a Special Ed teach in a new charter school. I cannot think of the town it is in right now. Hmmm let me think of it!

My sister started out in Raliegh and now she is in Greensboro. Raliegh is a great area. FM what kind of info you are looking for and I will find out from her.

Re: North Carolina
We live in Durham (about 10 minutes from Raleigh) and they were desperate for teachers about a year ago. I had a board of education member beg me to become a teacher, as I have degrees in science. They really needed math and science.I think the need is on going, as they have had to expand schools and school districts. If you're interested in the Triangle (aka Research Triangle Park) area, look at the Wake County, Durham County, and Orange County district websites.
We love it here and it's MUCH more affordable & laid back than NY. FM me if you have any questions about the area!

Re: North Carolina
DH's family moved to NC and live outside of Charlotte. His sis bought a gorgeous house in a beautiful development for $200,000. Kind of makes us want to move there sometimes too. So cheap----and really good shopping! I really don't know too much about the job market there now. His sis and mom both moved there 3.5 years ago. Got jobs through a temp agency that turned into FT jobs. There's a lot of growth in the area still, so I'd have to guess that there's jobs to go w/the growth.

Re: North Carolina
Theres tons of jobs in NC! I taught in Wilmington, NC for two years and I'm actually moving back there this year! The next county over from Wilmington is Brunswick County and right now it is the largest growing county in the US. I know for a fact that 2 new schools will be opening for the 2009-2010 school year so there should be positions open!!Welcome New Vendors
