now i'm mad.

we are moving out of MIL's house on thursday. yay, right? this morning I notice clover is scratching herself fervently. i look at her more closely and i notice black specks like crusty stuff all over her fur. so i did a little research and i text dh at work 'i think she has fleas'
so he tells me eh how could that be possible she's an indoor cat, and helmut and bear get treated monthly. see if you can find an actual flea on her. so i look and look (she has LOT of fur) and yep, i found a flea. i screamed. MIL yells up the stairs 'are u ok?'

soooooo i go down and i'm like clover has fleas! so she's like well we treat all the animals how could that be? and... ready for it?....

SFIL is like 'oh, i stopped giving the cats the flea treatment a few months ago. i guess I shouldn't have done that.'

ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME??????????????

So now, we're in the midst of scrambling to packup all of our stuff and we have FLEAS!!! I AM NOT TAKING FLEAS TO MY NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!



words just don't even explain how angry i am.

anyway i called the vet and picked up medicine and gave it to all 3 cats. it's supposed to work within 12 hours, so... hopefully it's working. and hopefully i didn't pack any fleas.

Poor kitty!

We boarded my dog with a pet sitter once and he came home with fleas. We gave him a flea bath and it worked. I saw one or two on my clothes that day but after that they were gone. If they don't have a host animal, they will die.

ita, as much as cats hate baths, you need to do it. after that it will be gone....doesn't hurt to wash any sheets or covers they might lay on. even with the flea medicine over the years either the dog or cat will get the occasionally flea but one good bath and their gone.

OHhh noooooo....

make sure you vaccum everywhere... the heat makes any eggs hatch and then the vaccuum with suck them all up...

Definitely vacuum everywhere. Wash all your bedding on high heat. What a nightmare!
