Re: Now that your married....
well we just moved to nc...so the holidays are going to be a little rough, money wise and travel wise...for Thanksgiving we are having it at our house with our friends and Christmas hopefully in NY where we can split time between both our families, which we always did before.

Re: Now that your married....
i am too far away (10,000 miles) from my family so holidays this year with my family are out of the question. they dont celebrate thanksgiving here, so it looks like xmas with his family. they dont really do much for xmas, and my family usually does a big xmas, so i am pretty sad.

The same way we have been doing it for 8.5 years. We go from my moms to his parents to my dads

Re: Now that your married....
I have no idea. This year is only our second holiday season together. Last year we spent the holidays with my family. Ordinarily I would say that means this year is with his family, but there is a baby on my side, and x-mas really is for the little kids that still believe in Santa Clause - so we'll see.

We've been dealing with that for 8 years now! And it's usually a fight every time.
My MIL asks what time we're having ours (a month prior to holiday) and my mother doesn't decide what we're doing or the time until 2 days prior. Yeah... it's not fun. Now that our house is built... the choice is: you can come to my house and if not, than i'm not going anywhere!

Thanksgiving-My Parents House Xmas Eve-My Parents House Xmas Morning-Breakfast with SIL's & family Xmas afternoon-we keep open New Years-Some alone time for Us Easter-My Parents house
His parents have both passed away and he doesnt think much of either of his sisters cooking, so we spend most holidays at my parents. Not sure what will happend after the baby is born

Re: Now that your married....
Really the same as before the Wedding. We have a very difficult time because my parents are divororced as well as his are. So were basically sick of the whole traveling thing.....
But we all know how family gets. They all want you to be there....

Re: Now that your married....
The only change is that we'll alternate who we go to for thanksgiving every year now. both our families used to go out for this one holiday only, but now that my grandma is getting older, my side goes to Florida. DH couldn't get off work this year so this year we'll stay with his 'rents and next year we're off to FL.
I had to tell my crazy MIL NOW that we won't be celebrating turkey day with her n 2007. It will take her a year to get used to the idea.
