do you read the other boards and kinda snicker and feel that we were all being a little ridiculous and tedious?

Re: now that you're married
I think I knew I was being ridiculous and tedious at the time... but it was just easier to take my energy out on the wedding planning instead of being upset over my dad's surgery all the time. Before we knew about my dad's surgery, I was just ridiculous and tedious b/c I'm anal and was a bride. I think we all have the ability to get that way with our weddings.... but yes, it definitely wasn't worth the energy wasted getting upset over so many things.
At the same time, I don't know if there was anything anyone could have said that would have made me act in a less ridiculous manner!
But people get so caught up in planning the DAY that it's hard for them to put it into perspective. It's ONE day, albeit an important one, in what should be a very long life.

YES! I don't know why I got myself upset over the littlest things!!! In the end nothing really matters except the fact that your married.

YES!! Especially when I see people stressing over Invitations, and how to address envelopes..... I went crazy over that, and now looking back on it I realize how trivial and ridiculous that was.

I think I already knew how rediculous it was... That's why I was a total NON-BRIDE the whole time I haaaaated planning so much, so relieved it's over

totally. i laugh my assss off sometimes at the things that bother the current brides that i too once used to care about!
sometimes i step back and say 'omg was i really like that too??!?' and then i'm glad that i don't have to plan a wedding anymore....one time was enough!

Re: now that you're married
Before I was married I thought some of the things were ridiculous.
A few weeks ago I was reading the LIW bridal newsletter. It had a write up about bridal counseling I thought that was weird. I didn't find the planning to be so bad that I needed to go speak to a therapist about it. I would think trying to fit therapist appointments into my busy schedule would cause more stress.

totally..you realize how some things were so non-important and how the little details werent as noticed or as important as you thought they were...but i guess you can never realize this until you go through it

Re: now that you're married
honestly I never stressed out during our wedding planning! I think mainly just because DH & i are super laid back...and my point of veiw was I could either let these things bother me & rob my joy, or say the hell with it, do what works, and move on. the worst thing was just bickering with my mother constantly...but other than that I loved planning! and now i love to help new brides i would LOVE to be a wedding planner(except that i'd give any chick that desides to be a bridezilla the boot )
