Re: ~NW SUPERLATIVE BEST THEME THREAD!!~
We wanted a tasteful fall theme, with hints of winter...we wanted it to be very New England mid November since it was in Connecticut...really give people a reason to see why they came to CT for us.We had chocolate brown as our main color, and hints of fall throughout (leaves on the aisle runner, leaves on the invitations, maple syrup & jam as our favor), but we contrasted it and brought in the winter with baby blue hints and our branch centerpieces.

Re: ~NW SUPERLATIVE BEST THEME THREAD!!~
We of course did our MOTOWN theme:The first influence on this was obviously my dress which was very similar to my grandmother's dress from the 50s. It's tea-length ball-gown with tons of fluffy tulle.
Our reception was entirely 50s and 60s based.
Guests were seated at tables named after icons of the era:
Elvis, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, The Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Bobby Darin, etc.
Our first dance was introduced by 'Cousin Bruce' Morrow, DJ for Sirius/XM '60s on 6' channel. We did the dance from Pulp Fiction 'You Never Can Tell (Teenage Wedding)' by Chuck Berry
Our afternoon reception featured ONLY music from the era: our guests paraded around the hall doing the 'Loco-motion' and the 'Limbo Rock'
Our menus and photobooth pictures carried the same theme-based design:
Our favors were CDs with Bill and I's favorite tunes from the 50s.
... and a lot of our guests dressed in 'theme'.
Here's my brother dressed like Buddy Holly with his date:
And last but obviously most importantly...
We had a special visit from THE KING... revived from the dead:

Our theme was baseball - DH and I met playing softball. DH and I also spend most of our lives playing baseball/softball - from high school and summer teams to college ball. Our STD:

Pictures at the local park in town - I had a catch in my wedding dress and DH in his tux:

My dad is also a softball umpire:

Our signing book was 2 baseball jerseys (Mets and Braves):

And we entered the reception under an arch of wooden baseball bats:

This isn't as traditional a theme as the other ladies ,but we had a garden- wedding, rose theme. We tried to incorporate roses into all parts of the wedding from the stationary, to the flowers,to the cake, to scattering rose petals on the ground.

Hmmm, I guess I never entered this category! It's more of our color scheme, but we did use damask a lot. So I guess our theme would be b&w damask. Here's the linens, with damask runners. You can also see the damask menus and the damask favor CDs.

Our invites/programs were damask:

Our guest book and card box were damask:

And we had a damask room divider displaying wedding photos and escort cards.

Re: ~NW SUPERLATIVE BEST THEME THREAD!!~
Maybe I'm getting in late in the game...Anyway, we wanted to have a few things represented at our wedding. A love of both of our cultures (me - Irish; DH - Bengali), a love of music, and a representation of a compassionate lifestyle in our menu choices, since (as I'm sure ya'll are well aware by now), DH and I are both longtime vegetarians.
Our menu selections consisted of:
CH - samosas, butternut squash ravioli, chickpea salad, hummus and taziki sauce with pita, polenta with mushrooms, portabello mushrooms, pierogies.
Dinner - vegetable strudel, roasted, stuffed red peppers, mushroom risotto, vegetable stirfry, eggplant parmesan, pasta primavera.
Our cultures were represented in our color theme (orange and green - Irish flag!) and our change into Indian wedding attire during the reception:
Color theme (Irish):
Change into Indian outfits for part of the reception (Bengali):
And finally, music. We are both music buffs and our playlist included everything from Patsy Cline to Natalie Merchant to The Ramones to Pearl Jam to Led Zeppelin to the Rocky Horror Picture Show to Frank Sinatra to M.I.A. And, we had everyone autograph a guitar instead of signing a guestbook. We have guitars throughout the house, so it fits right in to the decor.

My dad insisted on being the first to sign it:
