Thank you soooo much to Jenna for making me NWOTW my second week on the board I'll do my best to remember I'm a NW and post the QOTD daily! Also, I haven't been around these parts long so if I re-ask a recent question I apologize


SOO here goes:

What is your and DH's first goal as husband and wife (i.e. buying a house, having kids, etc.) ??


I think our first goal is to decide where we want to live permanently! Obviously right now we're here but we have discussed moving back to my hometown, and I don't want to buy or start TTC until we are settled in our permanent place - I've already moved to a different country once, I just think with a new baby or something like that it will be too hard! Sooo in the next year or so we are going to really think it out and make a decision.

Our first goal was to decide where we wanted to move. DH was applying for tenure-track professor positions across the country, and got a few really good offers. There was one school that he absolutely LOVED but it was in an area of the country that was extremely conservative (not good for us personally) and 2.5 hours away from the closest city. The other school that we considered seriously was in a great area (close to family, 3 major cities within 20 minutes - 1.5 hours away from us), but the school isn't a big name like he's used to working for. We wound up going with the latter, and couldn't be happier!

Our biggest decision was getting a puppy, which we got a few weeks after we got married. We already had our house-we bought it a year after we were engaged and we don't plan on having babies.

HOUSE! This project is gonna be a doozy but here goes! We went to see our first house on Sat.......

we don't really have any immediate goals ... but in the next year or two, we're going to start thinking about finding a house. after we're settled, then we'll start thinking about kiddies.

100% buy a house. We've been saving like crazy. We extended our rental agreement on our house now for the next year and then we're hoping that maybe next Christmas we'll be in our OWN house!

Our main focus right now is paying off our credit cards and then saving as much as we can. Specifically we want to build up a 5 month emergency fund. THANKS SUZE ORMAN.

Come summer time we will be ready to TTC.

Small goals: learning to cook, setting up our apartment

Start saving again!

We already have a house and probably won't TTC until at least next year. So other than building our savings back up again, we don't really have any immediate goals.

We did renovate our kitchen a few months after we got married though, and we'll probably renovate our bathrooms next year.

We're fixing up our place. He owns it with his parents (though they don't live there, thank god)...so we've been focusing on doing it room by room.

This weekend we'll be working on the final room...living room...painting it and then next week grabbing a couch that we saw last night. Yay!!!

Other than that, saving money, both individually and jointly. We've been doing well with this lately.

And finally, traveling more.

We already bought a house and we aren't planning on TTC for about five years. Soooo our goals are to save money and live it up

At this moment, I think DH and I are just trying to get through this year. Once the new year rolls around, our goal is to look into getting our own house or condo, and definitely TTC.

Our first goal is basically achieved, DH is starting his MBA at NYU in February. Next goal might be to buy an apartment and maybe a baby. But it could be baby first!

Since we already bought a condo together prior to the wedding, our next duty would be to start a family!

I am finishing my MBA at NYU in Feb - thank goooooodness (it was AWESOME i am just SO done...it was a lot with wedding planning, new job, etc).....so FM if he has any questions! He will have a BLAST!
