NWQOTD - 12/14
ok ladies. most of us have just gotten married or have been married for less than a year. since you & your DH said your I do's -- what has been the hardest thing you had to overcome or get accustomed to since becoming husband and wife? For me I would have to say so far (it's only been 45 days lol) it's the name change.... (DH and I lived together before we got married for over 2 yrs)
I thought the name change would be so easy and I would get used to it right away. but it's just soooooo weird. Anyone else?

Hi Rosemarie......I know exactly what you're referring to.Although I love my new last name, it's weird to still sign my maiden name out of habit. I haven't changed my name officially yet but everything else has changed like facebook, email at work, etc.
It really hit me when I was leaving a message for a client and I said my new name outloud.

I am probably the minority here, but not much has changed for me. We lived together for 4 years before we got married and had a baby so it was basically life as we know it. My name stayed the same as well. The feeling of completion is definitely a plus and we are officially a family!

I still sign my maiden name out of habit too! and when I say my new name I feel weird. Oh and the best is when they call me Mrs. I feel like they are referring to my mother in law!

Re: NWQOTD - 12/14
i don't know why but when i have to sign for the Fedex at work, i still sign my maiden name out of habit sometimes. LOL! the Fedex guy has been coming here for years and he jokes around that i pretend to not be married that day when i sign with my maiden name. The hardest part was learing how we live with each other. We did not live together and its an adjustment to learn how another person functions day to day. Vacations are always so idyllic and never a reality so you don't really know how it is. Plus, we had to set up a new routine, like coming home from work, cooking, cleaning...

Hello Rosemarie!
I would have to say my last name too. It was hard letting go of my maiden name. We lived together for 2 years before. Other than that, I think everyhing is the same!

I feel the same way! I couldn't wait to change my name (I love my new last name!) but it still takes some getting used to.
And I refuse to change my signature.

The most difficult thing has been...trying not to kill him.
..nothing's really changed, I guess. We've been living together for 2 years now.Seriously though, I do have to try not to kill him sometimes
