Good morning. Hope everyone is staying warm today and not sniffling and coughing like I am Anyhoo, I like the 'if you could...' types of questions so here is another one:


If you could be doing your absolute dream job and earn a good salary doing it (no matter what it is) what would you be doing?

I really like social work (although I wish I did make a bit more ) and what I do now, but I'd love to tweak it a bit and work with teens/young adults with disabilities and their families to help prepare and transition from childhood to adulthood, whether that means helping them find the right post-secondary educational program or the right vocational program or job, etc. My goal is to one day open a private agency that does this work for families that can afford to pay as a fee-for-service and then use that to subsidize to provide to families who can't afford, as well as go into special ed high school programs to help with the transition planning there.

I'd be a Catholic high school English teacher, and I would write on the side. I loveddd my high school and want nothing more than to teach there. Teaching in a Catholic high school is suchhhh a specific thing though...so I have other jobs that I love as well in mind until I can get there.

I love being a teacher and I make a pretty decent salary. However, if I could do anything I wanted- I'd love to be a fitness trainer and nutrionist. Spending my entire day in a gym is my dream lol

I would very much love to have a family business. Something very specialized and focused. My husband is an attorney, my brother is a CPA, and I have my MBA. It is something we all talk about often. I would love be in a position to make critical decisions and position a brand/product/service (likely service) that is so close to home. I definitely have a VERY strong entrepreneurial spirit!

Meredith (MerryNmatt) is a close friend from home and this is something we talk about also!

I love writing and I'm happy that I've started again, but I don't have a lot of time for it.

I used to be really good at proofreading. I've become a little rusty since I've been out of college for a few years, but I think I'm still decent. Errors just pop out at me! Remember 'A Beautiful Mind' when certain words and phrases would pop out and look highlighted? Yeah, that's me. Maybe I need medication!

I also like shopping, in case you haven't noticed , so maybe I'd be a writer/proofreader/professional online shopper! OMG I just got so happy!

I would write lots of poetry books and travel the world reading my poetry.

Poets don't make money though .

I would like to work in my old High School (because I LOVED High School) as the school social worker. I studied Psychology in college and really wish that I would have done something in the field. Also, I feel like 'if I knew then what I know now' I would have done SO many things differently! I feel like I can help the teens that are in the same situations...

Unfortunately, my dream job would kind of require mega bucks to do.. and no pay! I would be rescuing dogs and cats from kill shelters. I'd have a huge place, lots of space and take them all in, try to find homes and for those I can't would have homes with me.

But yes, finding that job that pays well and brings your some kind of gratification is the eternal mystery...

right now i have the worst combination of HIGH stress and LOW pay so as long as i ditch one category its an improvement.

amen!!! seriously, i tihnk id like to be a travel agent and just travel everywhere too.

if i was born with more skill, id LOVE to be a choreographer (love to dance. love love. just not that great )

or i'd be on SNL (if i wasnt so shy).

This is a GREAT QOTD!

I'm a Physician Assistant and I LOVE my career. My passion is gynecology. I work in fertility now. However, I adore adolescent girls. Ya know the ones that say, 'how many holes do I have down there?' Hahaha I love educating and counseling them. I also LOVE to deal with issues from yeast infections to terminations to contraception/safe sex practices to STDs. Some are very hard to get through to and I would just love it!

Sooo.. with that being said, a Planned Parenthood would prob be right up my ally, only if it were $$..
Oh, and not having to travel into the city everyday would be friggen perfect!
