sorry this is a little late... i think i finally caught the cold my sweet DH had (thanks babe!) and took advil this morning (which makes me tired) and fell asleep again -- wow, it's LATE! and i feel sick! :o(


this QOTD might seem a little random, but i thought it would be a little fun to share a bit about ourselves and learn just a little more about each other...



what are the 5 most interesting (OR most random) things you'd like others to know about yourself? AND what are the 3 most favorite things about your relationship with your DH?


so for my answer:
interesting/random things about me...i guess these are more random than interesting..but that's just a matter of opinion i guess :o) :

1. i MUST be watching I Love Lucy in order to fall asleep
2. i hate, hate, hate china dolls (and clown dolls) for many reasons, but mostly because they look like at any moment their eyes could open and they might jump off the shelf at you
3. i am incredibly accurate with a bow and arrow (and i have no idea why) ps...i learned this fact by accident at a county fair once
4. i can kinda play the piano and i LOVE to sing in the dark to my often out of tune guitar...
5. i ride horses (with saddle and bareback) and have ALWAYS wanted to ride a mechanical bull

and 3 of my favorite things about my relationship with DH...

there are SO many more than 3!! ;o)
1. brian is my very best friend who makes me laugh more than anyone i've ever known
2. i have someone that understands me, who i am and doesn't judge me plus he's the best hugger! (and kisser :o)
3. i fit perfectly under his arm when we walk together or snuggle on the couch...

random facts about me

1. Im adopted, and no i dont ever care to find out who my biological parents are...

2. I am addicted to the internet, sometimes its ridiculous.

3. 2009- was probally one of the best years of my life, marriage, new job, new car, new puppy , and just a week into 2010, a new house!

4. I am slowly leaning towards the side of 'never having kids'

5 things about myself ...

1. I have felt my entire life that all I wanted to do was be a wife and mother. One down ...

2. I never thought of myself as a happy person until 2008. Had lots of family, friend and life drama growing up and was a pretty miserable person.

3. The issue nearest and dearest to my heart is civil rights/gay marriage. The idea that I got married last year and my best friend cannot literally eats me alive. I have devoted countless time and effort into supporting the HRC and our local politicians who lobby for change.

4. I have met all of my 'important' boyfriends/DH online! My first 'important' boyfriend I had been chatting with online since I was 12 years old. We finally met when I was 21. He lived (well, still does) in the UK. Now we are both married and he has a son.

5. I don't think I will ever be happy working a full-time 9-5 job, but it pays the bills, of which there are many. I honestly cannot imagine having a full-time job that I am happy to go to.

Three things about DH and I:

1. I never have more fun with anyone than I do with my DH. We are ridiculous human beings who live to make each other laugh.

2. My DH understands exactly how to react to all of my bad moods, from patting me on the back and saying 'there, there' to trying to cheer me up by making jokes, to talking it out with me. I never have to tell him which to do, he just seems to know somehow.

3. DH is the best vacation buddy I've ever had. We both like the same amount of action vs. relaxation, so we are never in disagreement over what we should do and when we should do it.

5 Things About Me:

1) I went to film school (graduate) and regret it for the most part.

2) To date the greatest time of my life (other then the wedding) was my three weeks working at the Cannes Film Festival. I was skinny and hot, got into amazing parties, walked the red carpet for screenings, was invited to a party by Cuba Gooding Jr. (didn't go, long story) and was hit on by a big time producer (but was to sketched out to go to the Kill Bill Party with him because I didn't know who he was, only to find out later he was BIG TIME and probably could have launched my career.

3) I dumped DH by e-mail, but we were friends with all the same people so we had to see each other all the time. While we were broken up I got drunk at a party, kissed him, and told him I would never get back together with him unless I was going to marry him.

4) We hosted two exchange students in my lifetime. One was my MOH who is Bulgarian, and is like my sister, and went to the same college (Lafayette) but lives in France now. The other Helene was part of a group that came here. I visited her in Montpellier but during the visit I fell for a french boy. I might be married now and I love DH unconditionally, but I have to admit still swoon when I see the french boy, who comes by to say hi about once a year when he is visiting the Hamptons.

5) I have been lucky to travel all over which is probably why I am into History and want to teach SS. My favorite trip is a toss up between Italy with my parents and the 3 week course I did in college that took us to Berlin, Dresden, Praugue, Vienna, Salsburg and Munich to study 20th Century European HIstory where it happenned.


Three things I love about DH and I:

1) We completely trust each other.
2) We were good friends long before we dated.
3) We make a great team because I am creative and he is handy. In another economy we could have made a fortune flipping houses.

***Totally not interesting, but just some random things about me***
1. I am a total night owl and a complete mess in the mornings. Dh is the total opposite and it drives me crazy. (I am kind of jealous that he can pop out of bed at 7AM every day, while I am dragging myself out of bed kicking and screaming at 8:30 to get to work by 9!)
2. I HATE fish. Not just as food, but all fish. They freak me out. I never go in lakes or the ocean unless it is crystal clear. Don't even have a fish tank near me, I'll totally freak out.
3. I love going out to bars/clubs with my friends but the minute it turns 1:30AM I suddenly HAVE to leave. I usually do the 'Irish Getaway' and don't say goodbye. You can find me in the local pizza place at 2AM.
4. I am 5'10 and I love being tall (because I can hide weight gain, LOL) but I secretly wish I was 5'5 so that I could rock 4 inch heels out at night.
5. I am a true Gemini and I have 2 completely different personalities. You never know which one you are going to get. I can be really wild, crazy and outgoing one day and shy, quiet and reserved the next. Either way...I love being the center of attention

What are the 3 most favorite things about your relationship with your DH?
1. We never go to sleep angry with each other...not once in 5 years together.
2. We really don't have much in common at all, but for some reason it totally works for us.
3. He takes care of me.

random facts about me

1.i can say the alphabet backwards

2.from over 20 ys of sports and heneral clumsiness i have broken almost everything in my body and numerous stitches

3.even though i am always in sneakers i own like 20 pairs of heels

4.i can answer any question about saved by the bell

5.i hate clowns and the burger king guy..they scare the hekll outta me

1. I am an ABC Soap watcher...'my shows' relax me.
2. I always wanted to be a Veterinarian but cry at the thought of euthanizing an animal...no matter what the reason.
3. I cry when I see the ASPCA commercial with Sarah Mclaughlin's song Angel.
4. Spelling and Grammatical errors bother me even though I make mistakes too.
5. I am sooo afraid of Roaches..they don't just gross me out...they actually scare the shyt out of me!


3 favorite things about me and DH:

1. He shares my compassion and love for animals
2. We laugh...a lot.
3. He accepts the craziness that is my family and knows that my family is everything to me.

Oh I feel like I'm the queen of randomness so this should be fun!

1. DH likes to pull on one of my toes when we're laying around watching tv because he knows it drives me crazy if he does it to one toe and not the other.

2. I am super afraid of snakes - I think I would pass out if I were ever in a situation where I would have to escape from one.

3. I used to hate cilantro but I dont want to tell people that I kind of like it now because I always made a big deal of it being disgusting.

4. I have a stupid tramp stamp that I got the day I turned 18 that I hate now.

5. I'm pretty sure I could win the Guiness record for the deepest belly button - it's huge!


For me and DH
1. I value our friendship just as much as I value our love.
2. He makes me laugh more than anyone I've ever known.
3. He knows I'm crazy and still doesn't leave!

Some random things about me:

1. I love football and especially the Eagles but the only reason I started watching football was because DH told me when we 1st started dating was that if I wanted to see him on sundays I would have to watch football with him...So I have only watched any sport for about 7 yrs but most ppl think I have watched it for longer

2. I can name all the states in alphabetical order..I had to learn it for a 3rd grade play and it has stuck ever since

3. I have a niece who is 1 month older than I am and I have a great nephew who is 3.

4. I get scared very easily..DH always tries to make me jump...and I like the feeling..I dont know if its the adrenaline but I love scary movies.

5. I am shy around people I dont know..I tend to not like to be in situations where I dont know people...people think I am a people person and the center of attention but I really am not.

Favorite things

1. DH is my total compliment...we really make each other better.

2. I love he grounds me...its silly but I am a dreamer and he puts the reality back into my head

3. He loves me no matter what stupid thing I do or say...he is there for me no matter what!!!

1.Im a skinny girl in a fat girls body...........I used to be thin up until about 5 years ago i put on weight. If I didnt have a mirror I would still swear I was thin.

2. I love penguins and wish I could have one as a pet.

3.I can sing the words to every song on my Ipod and alot of songs that arent even on my ipod! I learn the words to songs very fast!

4. I hate going to work even though I like my job because I hate getting up early.

5. I hate when theres laundry in the laundry basket so I do laundry almost every single day...even though its only for 2 people.



3 things about DH and I:

1. We dated for a year and a half, got engaged, broke up, 4 months later got back together, got engaged again and got married 6 months ago.

3. Boating and beaching are really the only things we have in common. We are different in most ways but it works for us!

1. I have a very high pain tolerance but am a big baby. I once walked around on a broken ankle for 3 days before I was kidnapped and taken to the doctor. Yet, I need a valium before I go to the dentist for a cleaning!

2. I read at least one book (most times more) a week.

3. I know the words to every song Elvis Presley ever sang. My mom was a HUGE Elvis freak and my two sisters and I grew up listening to him. All three of us can sing every song.

4. I am a stickler for grammar and punctuation - even though I make mistakes on this board all the time - I would have made a great proofreader or editor.

5. I love to knit and have to say - I'm quite good at it.

My 3 favorite things about mine and DH's relationship:

1. He honestly makes me laugh every single day.

2. He loves my pet rabbit and I've caught him talking to her and giving her little kisses on her tiny head more than once!

3. He loves me even when I'm cranky, mean, tired, hungry, pms-y and am mad at him!

1. I have a knack for foreign languages, and have formally studied French, Russian, Spanish, and taught myself smatterings of Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Gaelic at one point...do I remember it? Not much...but I can pick it back up again almost instantaneously once I look at it.

2. I played violin for 6 years, but stopped after my father got in to a fight with my teacher!

3. I was a tap dancer, and somehow that morphed in to belly dancer.

4. They wanted me to play field hockey in school because I was so good at it in gym, but I refused because I didn't want to wear the skirt

5. I have not so secret designs to become a novelist, and I have enough stories to be semi-autibiographical, but I'm too embarassed to write it because I don't want my family reading anything graphic!

My three favorite things about my relationship with DH:

1. We enjoy doing the same things together and have the same sense of humor

2. He knows how to relax me when I'm stressed out by just cuddling me

3. He loves me unconditionally, and I'm definitely an acquired taste!

-Just before my mother gave birth to me she a banana slip sundae from Baskin and Robbin till this day I have never had banana split sunday
