NWQOTD 2.16.11

So let's talk money. Who makes more money: you or DH? Does it bother the person in marriage who makes less?

Dh makes in one week what I make in two, but that's mostly because he doesn't pay taxes that little sneak. It doesn't bother me in the least.

DH makes more, but my company provides full health benefits for him, which can really be priceless. We don't have to pay for healthcare.

So IMO, it's kind of balanced out.

And if he ever pulled the 'I make more' card with me, I would beat him up and send him to the hospital to remind him that I provide the benefits 'round here.

DH only had a part time job for the past few months (VERY part time - as in only working one day a week, at most!) so yeah - i make more. I used to get really mad that i was paying for 90% of our things ... but then i justified it because he stays home and does things like cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry. It also doesn't bother me because i know that he is trying to find another job, not just sitting around.

When DH has been full time, i still make more than him ... but the finances don't bother me at all at that point because i know we're both working.

I make about 15K less than DH. I am soooo OK with it. In fact...I wish he was making more so I could quit my job all together and go back to school!

He makes more, I made about the same when I was full time. I almost feel it annoys him, so I try to keep things clean and neat at all times, and try to be more fruggle when it comes to shopping.

Same here... plus our insurance comes out of my check too...

I told DH the same thing- I said make enough money so I can be a SAHW and I'll cook and clean in lingerie and my only job will be BJs. I think he might go for it.

I make more. It bothers DH a tiny bit but he's also a lot happier in his profession than I am with mine.

It would be cool to be the bread winner, but i'd have to really try and get a different job or get famous. I like the famous idea, but it's doubtful.

DH makes almost 3x as much money as I do...the only time it bothered me that I made less was when we first moved in together and DH wanted to support both of us without my help. I only wanted to put in my fair share...so our contribution to household bills is based on what percentage of our total monthly income each of us provides.

Other than that, doesn't bother me at all...I wish he made more though since my earning potential isn't great and I want nice things

DH makes more than I do and I'm okay with it, but I definitely bring up the fact that I wish I could contribute more to our household. He always tells me it's no big deal and it's all 'our money' and everything, but we're taking this trip to Hawaii in 2 and a half weeks and I kind of feel guilty because 'he's' paying for it. I know I contribute financially in other ways, but I wish I made more... at least the same as him
