So my inspiration for today's QOTD came when I busted my @ss the other day. I didn't hurt myself badly but I cut both my knees up and got a huge bruise on one knee. It got me thinking, I haven't had a scraped knee since I was a kid. Soo....
What's the worst injury you ever had as a kid?
By some grace of God, I never really got seriously injured. I think the worst injury (or at least most painful) was when a friend and I decided to have a race to the end of my block and back. Well we got to the end of the block at about the same time and as we both turned to come back, she shoved me to the side with her shoulder and I got thrown into a rose bush. I had cuts and thorns ALL over. It was terrible!!

I was riding my tricycle in my backyard and something got stuck on one of the wheels and I fell and split my face open. The Dr. tried to give me stitches, but I wasn't having it (I think I was 3 or 4) and I now have a sexy scar on my left cheek.

Holy C rap!
I was very lucky to have no serious injuries but I will tell you a funny story.
I was in college and I was in the midst of my crazy running days. I would run at least 6 miles 7 days a week. One day I was running and I was just at the half way mark when I had turned around to come home. I was rocking out to my walk man (yep...walk man.) It was about 90 degrees out so I was a hot mess. I wasn't paying attention and didn't see the tree root growing out of hte concrete. I tripped over it and busted my knee open. I was on a main road and was so embarassed that all of these cars saw me fall that I immediately sprung up (think Gumby style) and started running again. I was amazed at how little pain there was until all of a sudden i felt something cool running down my leg. I look down and I was GUSHING blood. So now, I am about 4 miles from home, no cell phone, sweating to death. I found the nearest store (a bagel store) but since I was bleeding so badly I didn't want to go in. I called in 'hello---I have fallen...' (a la Will Ferrel in Austin Powers) 'May I please have a band aid? Or some gauze?' THis idiot high school kid brought out a freakin pinky sized bandaid. I taped it on and hobbled home. My knee has never been the same since and I never run outside anymore lo.

No broken bones for me.
I did go to the ER to get a splinter out of my foot. It was special treated wood from someone's backyard deck. I screamed the whole time the Dr. was digging into my foot.
Um... I have a scar on my left thigh from when my cousin and I were playing 'roller skating waitresses' in our bathing suits on our grandparents' deck. I fell and my leg went into the corner of one of there low tables.
My brother playfully pushed me and my tailbone hit the wood under the fabric on the arm of the couch. Hurt for a month but the doctor said it was just a bad bruise.

I'm sorry but that is really funny ... I can't imagine this kid's reaction and even more, the idea that he gave you the tiniest bandaid for a gushing wound. I'm dying over here!!!

I have 2....
First was when I was in Kindergarten. I had come home and it was lunchtime and my mom was putting dishes in the dishwasher. I had a glass in my had and I was bringing it to her....I slipped on the tile floor and fell in the dishwasher and the glass shattered in my hands. Had to get stitches in both hands.
The 2nd was 2001. I was snowboarding and fell doing nothing crazy (it would be a better story if I was doing a jump or something) but my board stuck and I kept going and I broke my ankle. Got a ride down the mountain in one of those sleds......NOT A FUN RIDE. I was in a cast for 8 weeks and in a brace for another 4......ankle will never be the same. I can now predict the weather!!!!

nothing too crazy
but i did break my middle finger on my right hand in 5th grade....it was great to go into catholic school with a cast and a split giving the permanent 'middle finger' to everyone
oh, how did i break my finger? yeah, my cat ran under my legs, i tripped, and hit my hand on a door knob....yes that's right...a door knob!!!
i also cut up my leg on a broken license plate playing tag (brooklyn baby!! we run around cars in driveways, lolol) so now i have an awesome bunch of scars on my shin. hot stuff

Hmmm... I dont think I ever really had a bad accident... nothing ever broke... but when I was 2 or so (so Ive been told), my aunts dog jumped on me bc she was excited and knocked me down, and my head hit a glass table and was profusely bleeding... somehow i didnt need stitches but i still have the scar on my face. right above my eyebrow
The worst after that was prob 6 yrs ago when i scrapped both my knees against fire coral in bermuda while snorkling... I had 4 or 5 cuts on my knees and they wouldnt stop bleeding... Still have scars from that as well!

I broke my ring finger of my left hand in a bizarre accident on a swing when I was about 11...it never healed properly, so it's always a little fatter than the other fingers and the knuckle is a bit weird. But as a bonus, I never (knock wood) worry about my engagement ring or wedding band slipping off...they kind of can't...I need to work to get them over the knuckle.
I also had a tendency to twist and sprain my ankle every few months. I was always skating and doing stupid stunts and fking myself up.
Oh and one time, when I was 13, I tried to replicate Krist Novoselic's bass throw...I kinda did...he got hit in the head by his bass, I caught it but pulled a muscle in my neck. I was out of commission for almost two weeks with that.

When I was little I always had knee problems from dance but nothing too serious.
Last december I was teaching Tap and I jumped and fell the wrong way on my foot and I fractured it. That was the WORST! DH had to drive up to my job to drive me to the hospital.
