NWQOTD Humpday, October 27th

Thanks for sharing all of your 'stories' from yesterday's question. I guess I should add my name to the 'I want my Mommy' list as well. Unfortunately, she is down in North Carolina. I haven't even told her about this round of doctor appointments and tests, I don't want her to worry.

Yesterday some of you brought up baby doctor appointments. Soooooooo



Do you have or want children? Is DH on the same page? Please share parents prodding if applicable.

So, I want children. Three boys and a girl. Unless we end up needing fertility treatments, I don't think this is going to happen. At this point, a healthy baby is the goal. DH is on the same page. I know this for a fact because when I showed him the smiley face on the OPK despite having really bad back pain, initiated the baby dance!! My MIL and her sister are BUGGING, REALLY BUGGING us about it. I get more from the Aunt actually. Like I'd tell her before my MIL if I was preggers. Do you have any idea what kind of war that would start????

Yes, we are expecting our in February! We are nothing but excited. She'll be our first and our last (I don't want more than one, and if we change our minds in the future, there are plenty of wonderful kids that need foster homes/adopted homes).

YES! I can't wait to have kids but we want a house first. DH wants kids so we're on that same page but he wants to wait like 3-4 years and I want to wait 1-2 (even though I have the baby bug now). HOPEFULLY we can have a house next year and start trying then. DH wants a boy and a girl and I want 2 boys.

MIL used to bug me about it ALL THE TIME but DH had a talk with her and she hasn't bugged me since. She just bugs her daughter now who's married 1+ years and has a house not far from her.

Nope- no kids for us. At my age we have decided not to have kids. I will be 48 in a couple of weeks and I think with the health risk at that age we say no. Also- I cant see me raising a baby going through menapause!!!!

My dad and stepmom adopted a kid when my stepmom turned 50 . My little sister is now 10 and it's so funny to see her raised with a completely different parenting style than when my siblings and I were her age.

ETA: Celia, just making sure you know I didn't know that in a bad way at all!

We both wants kids and both want to wait a couple of yrs.. to enjoy us, buy a house, more steady career for me... like maybe 2-3 yrs...

i think like 3 and whatever sex, as long as their healthy!

as far as the fam pressure, not really!!!! however, comments were made when discussing what towns we saw some houses in.. 'your going to need a babysitter...'
like whhhaaaatttt???? its twenty min. away?!?! lol one thing at a time! lol

Nope, no way, uh uh!

We talked about it early on...we are 100% on the same page.

He likes kids but doesn't want the responsibility. I straight-up find most kids to be irritating.

My parents don't pressure us. His are more in the school of thought that we will.

I want my tubes tied.

We def want kids and are on the same page. I have always wanted lotsof kids, but at 37 I would be happy with 2.
As for family pressure, at my bridal shower, I was told that they are already planning the baby shower.

I have two from my first marriage. DH has one. So in total we have a 17yo son, a 13yo son, and a 9yo daughter. That's plenty for us. Everyone keeps asking if we planning on having a baby together and we both just look at them like they are crazy! The next babies we want around are grandkids!

We both definitely want kids- 2 to be exact. We both are interested in adopting as well.

I'm not gonna lie, I actually had a dream on our HM a few weeks ago that I got pregnant on the cruise and I remember telling DH in my dream and he asked me 'I'm gonna be a daddy??' and we were both so happy. Kinda makes me anxious to get started, but not just yet. I want to be selfish for at least 2 or 3 more years and buy a house. My mom is ALL for me waiting! She says she's too young to be a grandma!

DH and I both want children, but not just yet. We've discussed maybe starting to try next year.

Our parents are all waiting for us to have kids..........but they know it's not happening just yet, lol.

ETA: actually, it was funny. We were out the other night and this really annoying little girl ran by us screaming. I said to DH 'you know, sometimes I get that I want to have a baby kick........and then a kid like that runs by and puts me right back into reality'

We both want children but not just yet. I want 1 and he wants 2, but we are both willing to compromise.

we both want kids. more than 1, but not more than 3.

we decided to wait b/c we still want to travel and live in our 1 bedroom coop, before NEEDING to find a bigger place (and take on a bigger mortgage, lol)...and *hopefully* the RE market will improve that we can make some $ (although i will be soooo happy if we can just breakeven, which will take about 3 years)

our parents have not said ANYTHING about kids. honestly, we both have sisters that have girls and i think our parents hands are full worrying about them. so they are pretty occupied at the moment.

i think once DH's niece is in kindergarden (2 more years) and everyone has a little bit more time on their plate, we might start getting questions then. but i really doubt any questions before that from his folks.

yeah we want kids. i think. lol. i'm starting to wonder if it might not be the right time though. after having gone through/still going through the moving to a house thing, it was very stressful. I feel like we're just doing one huge life change after another, and i'd kind of like a break.

We definitely want kids, but are not going to start trying for a few years, because we plan to spend the next 2 years doing some heavy travelling.

We both want at least one, we've discussed starting the TTC process next summer after we do a few more trips but it seems so soon!

Parents have started to annoy us and told us we have one year to get started.

YES. we both want them badly. We actually were going to try this month, but hubby didn't get the job he thought he was so we are waiting until he gets a job. getting closer! cant wait.

DH would have loved a baby from me the year we met. I am still on the fence about it. I go back and forth. I do, than I'm scared. Don't feel like moving yet. So we will wait and see. Until than, I AM STAYING ON BCP!!!

YES !! We both want kids but ideally we want a house first. I am so excited to have kids and so it DH but we want to enjoy being newlyweds for at least a year

We want children or in my case a child. I want one but DH wants at least two. I cannot see myself with more than one child and a career so DH is going to have to deal with it unless of course we end up with twins. I want to wait at least 2 more years before we TTC so I can finish my PhD and find a job.
