So DH and I went out with one of my old co-workers on Friday night, and met some new people for the first time. All night, he was cracking jokes and the entire time, I was just sitting there shaking my head. Which leads me to my question:
When you and DH meet new people for the first time, what roles do you play???? Who's more talkative and who's shy?
My DH becomes the instant comic. He starts telling everyone about our first date and makes all his wonderful sarcastic remarks I on the other hand tend to remain more quiet and conservative until he starts getting embarrassing, lol.

I think I tend to be the more talkative one and DH is more reserved. Although after a few beer DH becomes mr.talkative as well.

DH is the same way. He's extremely outgoing and he *thinks* he's hysterical.

DH is usually better at small talk and making friends. but it really depends the crowd. i like to learn about people and new things, so often ill ask questions. but i never seem to think my stories are that interesting, so it takes me a while to 'warm up' to new people to start telling stories

I'm definitely the more outgoing one...DH is much more reserved. He's not shy, he just isn't much of a talker until he really knows someone. I don't mind taking the lead...new people don't scare me

same for us too. im friendly but it definitely takes me a little bit longer to warm up to people.

My DH is a social butterfly... So he always does most of the talking... whether with old friends or new ones...
I on the other hand... am mostly quiet... I only add to the convo where it needs to be added to... I am much more comfortable being the listener... I've always had 'word-finding difficulties' that is very evident so i never take on that talkative role

Congrats on NWOTW!! Good question~DH is very outgoing and talkative. He can talk to just about anyone and he makes you feel like he’s known you forever. I, on the other hand, am waaaay less talkative. I laugh at jokes and add my two cents in here and there, but that’s about it. Well, unless I have a couple of drinks in me then I am a little more talkative, but I’ve been trying to keep my alcohol consumption to a minimum

It really depends on which one of us knows the people we are with. If we are meeting through DH, I'm a wallflower. But if we are meeting through me/my friends, it's totally different.
I have some pretty nasty social anxiety that comes into play when meeting new people ... hence that I've only met one LIW person and never been to any GTGs ...

umm well DH will talk to anyone and everyone!! so we meet new people whereever we go!!
i am usually not shy when this happends, but im also never the one that initiates the conversation...he is!

OMG...DH can talk to anyone....so he is totally the chatty one between us and I am always the shy one... I have always been shy...it takes me awhile to open up and I would rather be the listener than the talker in all occassions!! LOL

Dh is very outgoing with people we meet and starts cracking jokes right away. I jump right in there, but sometimes feel like I have to explain him a little cause as much as I lthink he is hilarious, I think some people might think he goes overboard! they usually catch on quick... on our HM the 3 couples we hung out with could not get enough of him once they understood his sense of humor!

we r both pretty talkative..i dont shut up and will talk to anyone and dont hav a shy bone in my body
but if u talk hockey or sanitation dh will talk ur ear off

It usually depends on who knows the people better, if DH knows them then he will be talking more or if I know them better than I will be talking more. When we are out of our general social circles we both tend to be more quiet than usual and it takes a little while for us to warm up and start being chatty
