**NWQOTD- Monday Nov.30th**

Good Morning ladies! First I would like to thank Allegra once again for picking me to be NWOTW!

Last night I was watching When Harry Met Sally and in the movie, Harry tells Sally that men and women can never be friends because the man is always thinking about having sex with her.

So my question is:

Do you think men and women can be friends, or do you think one always trying to bone the other? Also, does DH have any close female friends and how do you feel about them?

I've had many male friends in the past and I always thought that men and women could be friends without there being any sexual tension. But with that being said, when I first started dating DH we all kind of lost touch......so maybe there were some underlying 'feelings' there.
When I first met DH he had one close female friend. I only met her once and I had a feeling that she liked him. Well, I guess I was right because right after we got serious, she stopped talking to him!

I have a great group of friends, both male and female. My guy friends are like my brothers and I have no romantic interest in them whatsoever (and never have, even before DH.)

DH’s close friends are all guys, but he’s become friends with my female friends too.

Dh has no female friends other than our common friends and I have male friends with no interest in them. I think it all depends on your relationship with them. I have always had more guy friends than female friends.

I have a bunch of guys friends...DH has one girl friends that he still talks to thru text here and there that he met when he was doing a disney internship in florida...ive never met her but i never will really cuz he will prob never see them again...they live in florida.

now ok this is werid my really close guys friends are actually DH's best friends, and before DH and I became friends i acutally had a huge crush on one of his friends, and the other one, had a huge crush on me! lol DH and I became really close best friends and um yeah you see where that lead too! haha! but i mean my guy friends now obvi respect the fact that im married to one of their good friends and would never try anything...who knows what they think tho! as for me and my feelings for his friend who i use to crush well those are LONG gone! and he is also engaged to be married!

so in a way i believe you cant be friends with the opposite sex, but in certain situations you can

I am a FIRM believer that men and women can be friends. I've always gotten along better with men than women and I have plenty of male friends, and DH has become friends with them as well and treats them 'like his own.'

It does not bother me AT ALL that DH has women friends. I trust him 100% so I have no objection to him being friends with anyone. If I didn't trust him I wouldn't be with him.

As for our opposite-sex friends having feelings for us ... well, that would $uck for them but it's not my problem, you know?

I have a ton of guy friends.

I think men and women can be friends. But, it really depends on the guy. I had a BEST friend. Or so I thought. But he kept trying to hook up with me. That's when I realized he was not a good guy friend and I totally broke up with him- friends wise.

Then I have another best guy friend. He is seriously the best man friend I have. DH loves him and he totally respects him. He has a GF and we double date and stuff. When it's that kind of relationship, then things can work out.

I have a bunch of male friends and I am a strong believer that women & men can be friends without having any romantic or sexual intentions. I am pretty close with a few guy friends and FH has a few close female friends. Some does like him but they knew now that he's marry so they don't have any intentions on hitting on him.

I think that they can be friends. Personally DH has all male friends. He is such a lumberjack as I call him, he doesn't do all that well around women. Well besides me of course. He just doesn't have anything to relate to them. He is friendly with my friends but that is about it. As for my the majority of my friends are female. I have a few close male friends but they are gay. Does that count?

I think men and woman can def. be friends. I have a few really good guy friends. I swear I get along better with guys than girls. DH has 2 close girl friends that I love, they are really sweet.

However, I do not think you can be friends with an ex.. so if there was anything ever there i dont think it could work out.

I have many close friends who are male, and although with some there have potentially been feelings in the past, anything there has evaporated, and they all love and hang out with DH. He said at first he was kinda weirded out that a lot of my friends were guys, and then got over it because it was way easier hanging out with them than having to be hanging around a lot of girls :)

DH has some female friends but I wouldn't say they are close. They don't call each other on the phone or anything. To be honest, and I'm SUCH a hypocrite, I like it that way. Just being honest!

Yes men and women can be friends. DH and I were friends for years before we... oh wait, I guess thats a bad example.

No seriously its tough but it can happen. I am proof that you can be friends with guys. My friend Grant once said to me, Michelle, you are the only girl I have ever known that I have though of 100% as a friend. I know he meant that as a compliment and I took it as one. In college i was best friends with 7 guys. Some of them I had sexual tension with, one I dated, one I tried hard to date, one tried hard to date me and then of course DH, but 3 there was no sexual attraction between us what-so-ever. So it is possible, but tough to be truly just friends.

I have ALWAYS been friends with guys and find its about 50/50 in the sexual tension category.

DH however does not have any close girl friends and since all my close guy friends are his best friends too, we have no issues there, although the fact he knows I dated one and wanted to date one does cause some friction sometimes.
