I knew he didn't look right last night - I kept telling DH that he must be hurt or something. Geeze, he's so young.

Thank goodness it looks like its just his spleen!

According to Newsday...

Rangers forward Sean Avery suffered a lacerated spleen during Tuesday night's game and will not play again this season, the team said in a press release this afternoon.

Avery was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan last night along with a team physician Dr. Andrew Feldman, immediately after the Rangers' 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Contrary to reports by other media outlets, there is no indication Avery suffered any type of heart prolem and he never lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital in a towncar, not an ambulance, as had been previously reported.

A Rangers spokesman told Newsday the team isn't sure at which point during the game Avery sustained the injury. The team said Avery is expected to make a full recovery in the offseason.

Thank God thats all that is wrong (not saying this is a good thing but MUCH better than what the original report was of him not breathing and not being conscious)
