Grils, I am thinking of taking a class to prepare for the GRE. I went to the Princeton Review and Kaplan websites and the classes are 1,000 and up! I was wondering do any one you know of cheaper classes that I can take? or where I can look? Thanks!

Re: NWR- GRE
GRE=Graduate Record Exam=NOT FUN.
you can check into local colleges and see if they have any prep courses to offer. the workbooks are helpful if you are disciplined. practice tests are very helpful. i personally wouldnt pay $1000 for a prep course, maybe a couple hundred if a certain score is guarenteed. schools look at more than just your GRE score, so don't over stress! good luck to you!

Re: NWR- GRE
I just did some tests out of a practice book that had a cd. So I did practice tests on the computer. They were really helpful. Probably princeton review has a book. Check Barnes and Noble.

Re: NWR- GRE
Yep all I did was practice test and reviewed chapters from a book and my scores were good, helped get me a full scholarship to my PhD program...I used Research & Education Assocation study guide with tests on CD.
Good Luck!
ETA: DH used same company's book for GMAT and also did excellent!

Re: NWR- GRE
I only used the practice book. I wouldn't bother taking a class. Maybe you can check your local library to see if they offer GRE classes, like they do with the SAT.
