NWR: Question if anyone is in Book Publishing?

Hi Ladies! Not sure if anyone out there is a book agent or works with one (or is in publishing) but if you are:

My dad wrote a fictional novel about a quintessential French bistro in the middle of hustling, bustling midtown Manhattan. Aside from the fact that I'm a proud daughter, haha, I really feel that it's a great mix of serious food writing, comedy, and travel writing, as the text flashes back to when the two main characters travel the world, based on real travel essays my dad has written. I recently finished reading it and I just love it!

So, my question to you is: Do you happen to know anyone in the Publishing field, or more importantly, I guess, a Book Agent that I would be able to get in contact with?

I'm not sure how to get the process started and just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you ladies in case you knew anyone!

give me a few days..i know someone who just had a book published...it was a small book but i will find out who she used

Gina, if it's not too much trouble can you pass theinfo along ot me as well? I've had this children's book in my head for 3 years and I think I may start writing it!

sure no prob...my mother in law got a book from one of her students mothers..she just wrote it and gaveher a copy..i will she where she had it published

My ex bf works at Random House. I have no idea what he does there but I can ask!

Oh my gosh, Katherine - That would be so awesome! Or if he or you would rather, I can ask him too if it turns out he's in the right department. I more would just want to ask if he knew of anyone who was a Book Agent (or if they work with agents on a daily basis, etc.)
