Wells Fargo. Why? Because our mortgage broker (DH's friend) shopped around for us and got us the best rate. It was all about the rate for us.

bethpage federal credit union

check bethpage.coop for their current rates (BIL just closed and his rate was 4.6%-very good!) we used them as well.

no brokers or broker fees.

Wells Fargo - they had the best rates and our realtor worked with them a lot.

First tried citibank bc we have our bank accts with them... but then got screwed around in the very beginning with a particular mortgage consultant so we took our business elsewhere... right to wells fargo... i dont remember why... maybe bc DH worked for them way back when.... Use Lauren Pastore at WF if you do... shes great! Tell her Gina sent ya!

Re: NWR..Question for homeowners...

sorry '11er crashing - I am in the real estate area (part time job) so when I was looking to buy my first home a few years ago I got the best rate from Mid-Island Mortgage in Westbury. I've had them for 5 years now and have always had excellent customer service from them.

I dont trust mortgage brokers - they charge a commission. Citibank and Chase - my parents have had them and its been nothing but 1 headache after another.

Bank of America... that's who our broker chose

We used Continental Home Loans since they offered FHA loans and a decent rate. Since we closed on the house our mortgage was sold to Chase...so, now we are with Chase.

1st Home Chase - Ok to deal with...
2nd Home Wells Fargo - Ok...

I should not complain becuase I have heard stories of both companies being A-Holes with other customers.. So I think for me they both work just fine.
