DH has been wanting to DRIVE to FL from NY for the longest time and I finally agreed.
So we're thinking of going mid march. Has anyone done this?
I'd like to space it out between two days so that we can stop at some attractions along the way. What states do you recommend?

Ev, no suggestions- we did it in 17 hours, no stop.. which is pointless.. However, with all the vacations you go on, can you adopt me?

We've done this a few times, but we try not to stop anywhere so that we'd get to Florida faster. Will you both drive?
However, we've gone for long weekends to several of the states on the way to Florida.
Virginia is great, but you'd need to spend a few days there.

VERY LONG. My hisband drives for a living and he usually makes it ina day and a half; but 1. he is used to it so he dosnt tire as quickly as most people (like me) would and 2. He's kinda harrassed by the end lol. if you're looking for leisurely...you need a solid two days. Two and a half to factor in traffic and other unseen dififculties that may arise.

I have always wanted to do this! Have an awesome time!! Although, I can say on the roadtrip I've been on (NY to Nashville, TN) we just drove straight...would have been so much more fun to stop along the way!

Hehehe, aren't you the cutest!?!?!?! Sure we'll adopt you - you're a tiny little thing...but i'm sure your DH will require a little bit more food

NEVER AGAIN! we used to drive to HHI, SC...it takes between 14-16 hours depending on when you are traveling and its about 5.5 more hours to Orlando. I cant STAND to be sitting for that long, it goes fast until you are in NC and then everythingis the same

We might be taking a drive to Florida next month. Since he is the only driver we are looking into driving to the autotrain and taking the train to Florida.

October of 2006, My DH (FH at the time) & FIL took a road trip. My IL's were moving to Vero Beach Florida, so we were towing a car & bringing the Cat b/c we didn't want to put him on a plane.
We drove Non-Stop to Florida. We had to stop every 250 miles or so, to Gas up b/c we were towing, & it was gussling gas. It ended up taliking us almost 22 hours.
When we finally go into FLorida, it felt like FOREVER to get to Vero Beach.

Dh and I did it years ago...we stopped in Georgia for peaches (and got lost)
We stopped at South of the Border- good times
We stopped at Cracker Barrel- have no idea where lol
We stopped overnight in Virginia (maybe...? )
We stopped outside of Jacksonville to visit my BFF
