NYC ladies- Help! Bars in SoHo?

Hi Ladies!

I'm looking for some fun bars within walking distance to Gonzalez y Gonzalez, which I believe is in SoHo.

We're having dinner there for my sister's bach.party, I know they have salsa dancing later on- but I'd like to have a list of a few other options in case it isn't a good scene for us.

I'd prefer bars with no cover (if possible), nothing too fancy (not Clubs!).

Please help me!

This is soo difficult!

this is close to NYU - there are tons of bars in that area... on Bleecker or MacDougal... the Red Lion used to be fun; live music but i haven't been in years. More college-y bars are Off the Wagon and Down the Hatch (pretty cheap drinks) and Peculiar Pub and Josie Woods. These are all regular bars; not at all fancy.
