NYE!!!

NYE!!!

What are everyones plans?

I asked DH last night that since we didnt make any plans if he wants to just go to his poconos house but he said he has another idea. His mom had just asked earlier that day if we want a hotel room in the city for free, its in the times square area and i think through work or something who knows, she was given 2 hotel rooms and not taking either so giving away both rooms. Its free which is awesome and actually love the idea so we're gonna do that. Iguess we'll go check in early that day, hang out in the room and then go somewhere to eat. Maybe we'll have a view of stuff but not sure. Hang out in the room together and celebrate. I said the good thing is that since the hotel is in times square, if we wanted we can just walk downstairs for a little bit but not be in the insane crowd of ppl and then just go back to the room whenever we want.

That sounds like so much fun! I used to have an apartment right in the area and could see the ball drop from my window, it was sooo nice not having to be in the crowd outside (and have a bathroom to use )

I'm sure you will have a blast!

thanks, yeah im excited about it should be fun. We thought his brother and gf were gonna take the other room but i dont think they are. SO now were trying to find someone else who wants to take that room. I realized just now from my post above with saying MIL has 2 rooms that ppl probably think she is taking the other room lol but she is not. She asked if anybody wants to take it to let her know.

Yeah i remember a few years ago we went to a bar in times square, they had a nye party and it was great bc a few mins to midnight we all just walked to the corner and were able to have a great view of the ball dropping and we didnt have to be stuck in the crowd either or wait there for an insane amount of hours. After it was done we went back to the bar and drank and ate more.

I always wanted to get a room in times sq or near by for NYE. I never went to times sq or even NYC for new years - I am not a city girl - but i kinda wish we did at some point because next year we will be in new hampshire most likely (hopefully home owners!).

This year we are going to our good friends' house for a small party. I don't like NYE very much because I hate the stress of finding something to do, so when my friend asked us last month or so to come to their house I was excited - I didn't even have time to stress. DH's friends (well, mine too, but they were his first ) from VT talked about renting a house in the jersey shore and just making a huge dinner and then having a bonfire on the beach, which sounds AWESOME, but we had already committed to going to our other friends' house. i want to do the house rental some other time though!!!

Ugh. Lucky you. Im working once again. I know the money will be good but it still hurts missing NYE with the hubby. I missed it last year too.

If you and Joe want I can get you guys in to the club. Were not far from you and you wouldnt have to pay a thing to get in. Let me know.

ive never done the times square thing as far as waiting outside to watch the ball drop, and i never plan to lol i dont think youre missing much with that. Theres alot of irish bars around the area that have appetizers and you pay one price and its all you can drink for the whole night, the price was pretty good too from what i remember. We had no problems going through either, we had printed out our thing for the party and cops let us right through. It was alot of fun

Oooo thank you so much Lea, i am gonna ask Joe about it, he usually does hate clubs on NYE but you never know. The hotel is on 44th street so its RIGHT by the club you work at. Again thank you

Your not missing anything lol!!!! my sister fiance is NYPD and some years they went to see the ball drop..they said its a waste...its crowded, cold and the majority of people are just plain rude..they always told me i wasn't missing much and that they have more fun at someones house!!!!!!!

Denise, just one warning...make sure you carry along your hotel confirmation letter...There are so many cops there that block the sidewalks, it happened to us. We told him that we are staying at a hotel and he asked for proof and we showed him the confirmation letter and then he let us through, so just incase that happens to you just carry it with you

Have Fun!!!

yes thank you, i know. We had to do that even when we went to this bar in the city. we had to pay ahead of time to attend this bar, you had to get tix. Theylet us through and all but we did have to show proof of this and print out the tickets to the bar and show we were going to a specific place. We are gonna go early though around 3pm when its check in time but even then you probably still have to show something
