off the pill question...

ok question here... has anyone gotten off the pill and felt like a bipolar psycho? I didn't realize how they controlled my hormones and now I don't know what to do with myself and now i'm not sleeping i.e. 5:00 and still awake. I feel like i've been crying the last few days over EVERYTHING!! It hasn't even been a month yet since I stopped. Someone please tell me this will kick back to normal after I get my first true period.

wow sorry you are going through this! i got off the pill less than a year ago, I don't remember having the reaction you are. I'm an emotional mess anytime so I probably didnt notice a difference!

I lost weight after going off the pill though. A call to your doctor may be in order. Hope things get better asap!

this happened to me as well, i didn't realize the effect they had on me either I felt completely off when I stopped taking them. I stopped in April and feel fine now it took 2 months or so for me to start feeling ok I even asked the doctor about it when I went to see him, the only thing he said is he could put you on an anti depressent for it and i said no thank you I will fight through it!

i've been off the pill for a couple of months and i definitely have more ups and downs. i'm emotional in the first place but it feels like my emotions have been 'bigger' if that makes sense. not to mention, my skin is a mess i'm hoping in the next month or so, everything will balance out. hope you feel better!

I went off last month, got my period twice in a month (after not having it for 4 months!) And yes have noticed I have been emotional. And crying over things that aren't my problem, like a sad story I hear :( ughh make it stop!!!

Thanks for all the stories girls... It makes me feel alot better knowing that it is the stopping the pill thats making me an emotional mess. I really hope it goes away soon. I can only imagine how i'll be when I actually do get pregnant... OH my poor dear husband... I don't think he has a clue on what is in store. lol... gotta go and fill him in now. He's been such a good man so far.

did you girls get off bc your TTC? I am curious as to how long it may take women to get prego once they stop the pills.

yes TTC... my doctor wouldn't tell me how fast, all she said was it could take up to 6 months and not to worry if it doesn't happen right away. But she did say that technically you are able right after your first period off the pill.

I just went off the pill two months ago as DH and I are TTC-and I swear, the wind can blow funny and I will cry. It is your hormones becoming adjusted to being off the pill. You are not psycho, you are completely normal!

i went off my BCP about a month ago and i cant get over how emotional i am. I was my way to work this week and i was listening to the song my and my gpop danced to at my wedding. and i start sobbing ungodly and i couldnt stop

I am not TTC - just went off for personal reasons.

HOWEVER - I think everyone is different when TTC. One of my friends got pregnant 1 month after she went off the pill!

At my last annual GYN appointment, my dr. told me that when we're ready to TTC, I should stop my BC, wait for my first period to come, and then after that I can try to get pregnant. So it's possible to get pregnant after about a month after getting off birth control, but it CAN take longer. Just depends. Good luck!

When I was on the pill I felt that way. I felt hormonal all the time while on it. Always felt emotional crazy ups and downs. The pill made me feel nuts. I can't take it, it was that bad. I use the FAM model now to avoid pregnancy, will use it when we are ttc also.

It is a great resource for all women ttc and not. I use it to not become pregnant, but it can also be used to achieve fertility. I am a women's health geek.
