Ok GIRLS!!!HELP

I have Meal Moths! Had them for over a month in the pantry. I have tried literally EVERYTHING. Cleaning out the Pantry - throwing everything out that was not sealed - than freezing virtually everything that was in the pantry.
I even have moth traps - 2 of them in the pantry. Nothing is working

Even though the are harmless - they are making me ill

I can't with this any suggestions girls?

Pleasseeeee

Re: Ok GIRLS!!!HELP

Ok i did a search for you and this what i found:

1) There is a product called the Pantry Pest Trap made by Gardens Alive that is pesticide free and non-toxic, to trap grain moths, flour moths, meal moths, and seed moths. It comes in packages of two and works well. You can get it at www.gardensalive.com

2) Get an exterminator

3) Clean out cabinet and spray it with Raid and keep cabinet door open for one day to let the scent air out...(i dont think i want my food near Raid jmo)

4) Scatter Bay Leaves in cabinet.

5) Get rid of everything containing the bugs and clean your cupboards good. Next buy gum. Leave each stick in it's wrapper and tear it in half. Spread these throughout the cupboards, especially the ones with cereals and grains etc. You only need 3 or 4 per cupboard.

Thanks soo much I did the traps from gardensalive. I am soo disgusted.

I Obviously didn't do the exterminator.

Will the Raid work b/c I didn't read that anywhere.

Also the gym freaks me out.

I will try the bay leaves now though

I had them too, a pain to get rid of.

No option but to throw away all of the grain products and the sugar.
Anything in a can or bottle is fine, but in a box just toss it.
If you have shelf liner, get rid of it too.

Vacuum the pantry well, get into every crevice you can, then wash the entire pantry with warm, soapy water. Let dry and rinse with hot water.
Leave the pantry open for a few days to air out.
Neurotic me vacuumed the pantry every day for a week.

Wash all the canned or bottled product with warm soapy water.
If you use tupperware type containers, wash them in hot soapy water and let dry.

After a couple of days you can put everything back into the pantry and use the traps that you have been. They do work, you just have to be persistant.
I wouldn't want to use a chemical product near my food unless I absolutely had to.
Store your flour and sugar in an airtight container.
Pasta, rice should also go into airtight containers or ziploc bags until you have this problem under control.

If it makes you feel any better, they are harmless, just gross.

This may sound strange but...

My cat has been my exterminator. He catches moths, beetles, flies, etc... If you know anyone with a kitten who loves to attack bugs, its pretty effective.

My Kitty does it too - However this is out of control! She can't kill all of them!

I have virtually no more room in my freezer anymore! I am soo aggravated. and just talking about this makes me sick

I am going to throw away all my sugar! I don't have liner in my pantry it is all metal white wire shelving.

I put everything in zip loc bags already - I am soo annoyed. I guess I should wash the entire closet with bleach - like the walls n stuff

Btw- I herd they came from maybe cardboard boxes from our pet products and or they just naturally exist in our sealed food products that are boxed. They hide in the corners and make lava eggs

I didn't realize how common this can be

Actually I think salt might work too. Salt is a natural disinfectant and it kills bugs and their eggs. Try hot salt water when you clean or even lemon juice.
