since I am not working right now.. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do all the necessary errands and such- and change my name.. I am only legally hyphenating- so, it's not a major change-- just want to get all my legal papers straight.
Now- where do I begin?? I know this has been posted-- but you see, I have been married almost a year-- so I am OBVIOUSLY lazy

Im not 100% but I think you need to go to social security office, DMV and change your passport. Then you change credit cards, etc..
( I decided to keep my name while waiting in line at social security to change it..so Im not a wealth of knowledge in the subject :) )

I went to SS and then right over to DMV (with your marriage license) If I remember correctly-cause I did this awhile ago that was all I needed. I know the info is on the SS and DMV websites. Then I changed everything else; credit cards, professional license for work, phone bill etc.

I've only done the DMV (was not bad at all, but they do make you take a new picture,) some credit cards, and the bank. I still have not braved SS. I plan to do that soon.
