Ok someone please explain..

Tomorrow night there is a show called ' I didnt know i was pregnant'. These women just went into labor and had no idea they were pregnant! Um... does anyone else find this completely weird? How is that possible????

A friend of mine told me that it happened to someone she knew. She said the girl always had period issues and didnt think anything of it when she missed a few months in a row and had what appeared to be light periods the rest.

As for the weight gain, she was heavy to begin with so she didnt notice so much.

I personallly dont get it though...like didnt she feel it kick???

You would think so. I have no idea though. I guess this really happens, but it just seems so odd to me to not know.

Ive seen some of those on discovery health and TLC I think. It's crazy but then again it has happened. I know ppl say that they know others who had morning sickness and hear what all these other pregnant women go through so how can this happen but everybody does have different pregnancies so can't compare, or those who have been pregnant know what they went through so they cant understand. Once in a while you do get these rare cases and it happens. It's a rare thing and one of those medical type miracles well maybe miracle is not the right word. But thats why they make a show about it and not 'i was pregnant and had morning sickness' lol

When i saw the shows, the doctors did explain how this can happen.

Im going to try to watch it tomorrow night. Im so curious about what the women and the doctors say about it. I guess it just really surprises me that this actually happens to people.

I was actually watching part of this with DH and did not believe any of these women. One of them I was convinced had either drug or psychological issues...I just think she MUST have known...She said she only gained 4 lbs during her pregnancy! I don't get how you could NOT NOTICE!

I always think it's so weird that people could never notice. I heard on TV once about a girl who was in high school who didn't even know she was pregnant and then popped it out one night on the toilet. Imagine trying to tell that to your parents?

yeah, apparently it IS possible, but i just don't see how. Really, how could you miss your period for almost a full year and not think that something's up - even if your cycle is always off, that's just too long for it to go unnoticed. And besides the weight gain (if you're already a big girl), how do you not FEEL something forming inside you?? Sounds crazy to me. I mean, I was never pregnant so I don't really 'know', but i just can't imagine a baby inside your belly moving around and kicking and whatever and you just assume that you have large bubbles of gas in there. What's going on? I suppose the baby would have to be very tiny and VERY still.

I mean, for me personally, I know my body very well. I was feeling pretty nauseous last week (which barely ever happens) and then I was late with my period - so those 2 things alone meant that I HAD to go out and get a pregnancy test just in case. lol. That's how aware I am of 'strange' things happening to my body that I'm not used to. (The test was negative by the way - breath of relief. lol). But seriously, i just can't imagine. I think I am too aware of my body and I know what is normal compared to what is NOT. I can't be the only one

well not necessarily miss your period but some women still get their period while they are pregnant.

These are very rare situations, and while most women have the baby kicking, getting morning sickness and missing periods which are normal signs, these women didn't experience it. Didn't have morning sickness, one woman on the show was overweight and she did gain a few pounds but she felt it was normal for her. DIdn't feel any kicking, and the baby came early with this one woman in particular and some other situations i saw they also went into labor early. Also some overweight women have problems with their period so had irregular periods to begin with. I once had the opposite and for 8 months was having my period every 2 weeks and sometimes every week.

here is just one explanation for this, again remember our bodies can be different and have different situations, here it explains about an retroverted uterus

A woman with a badly retroverted uterus is far less prone to 'show' during the pregnancy, and is less likely to feel the baby's movement. Many women, especially the morbidly obese, have irregular menstrual cycles that occur only once in a blue moon. A perimenopausal woman is still able to get pregnant, but typically doesn't 'feel' pregnant. In fact, many perimenopausal females mistake the pregnancy for menopause since they have not menstruated in 9 or 10 months.

These are just a few of many issues that can mask a pregnancy.

they also mentioned if you have an anterior placenta, you'll likely not feel the baby's movement.

some though it can just be denial.

Again this is why its even a show bc they are very rare medical instances. Theres even crazier medical stories and anything is possible.
