OMG I HATE THE MORTGAGE PROCESS

Our loan officer is putting us THROUGH THE RINGER getting the mortgage for our new house. Meanwhile, we close next week. I am near tears.

The mortgage is in my name only. The house is in my name only. Yes - they asked for (are you ready) TWELVE months worth of bank statements from my husband's business. Um, WHAT? So we gave it. Then she wanted a etter from his accountant stating that his gift to me (the down payment) wasn't a detriment to the business. Yup, got that. No enough. Now she wants his business's tax returns for the past 2 years. HE'S NOT EVEN ON THE
MORTGAGE



I literally cried at my desk today. I have done everything for these people. Its not even that we can't afford the house, its that they don't like that my husband deals in cash a lot. They want proof the source of his funds. what are we, the F@cking Colombian cartel???? You are NOT the IRS - write the f%cking loan already!

OMG I'm sorry..I bought a coop last yr which requestedall that jazz and it was TORTURE I totally feel your pain hun

ugh - Caroline i'm so sorry this has been such a headache for u! just think - a little while longer & then all will be said and done..the house will be urs & u'll never have to deal with this idiot again

DH and I are going through this too.....

i will not be on the mortgage even though i make more money than DHbut because i have only been at my job for 6 months my income is not stable enough.....

DH has his own business and we had to write letters too about the nature of his work and blah blah blah.....

and our account had to write a letter too that business $$$ can be used without hrting the business..

it is such a pain now bc of the mortgage crisis

That *****! When I buy a house it most likely will be in my name only. DH has bad credit and has not worked on the books since his last job. He clams with his Dad. I wonder what they will ask of me when I go to apply. Now I am scared! I have great credit. Just some credit card debt that I am paying down.

I hope the rest of this goes smoothly for you. I am sorry they are being total pains in the @ss!!

That really s u c k s. Hopefully this nightmare process will be over soon and you can finally get approved. I just can't comprehend for the life of me why they need all his information when it is YOUR NAME on the mortgage.

I can totally sympathize with you! It's the most annoying process ever. All I can say is that when it happens and they keys are yours, you will be so happy!

I can totally sympathize with you. We went through this hell last year. Oh and the kicker...2 days before our closing we were asked if we had home insurance Yes, you got it. NO ONE TOLD US throughout the whole process. Why would we know this since we never owned before? So make sure you have it!

awww... I know its stressful, but as long as you are able to provide them w. the paperwork you have nothing to worry about. Just remember what happened the last time these banks decided to go lenient.... They are just making sure that they dont make the same mistake twice. Don't worry, things will work out. AND dont be surprised if they delay the closing. IT happens MANY times - so dont freak out.

My brother is going thru the same thing right now..him and his business partner are buying a house together (for a flip) and they are getting the same runaraound. They are camera ops in the tv/film industry and dont understand how they can be freelance workers and make so much money...Its crazy...they have both shown paystubs and tax returns showing the company brining in half a mil last year but thats still not good enough
