a friend of mine was in a wedding---and she just told me this story.
the bride's family really wanted to invite as many people as humanly possible--like the kind of invitees where its like 'well we went to so-and-so's daughter's wedding 10 years ago and gave money--we need to invite them so they do the same for us, no matter what!!!!' they were warned by friends and the hall that they were inviting TOO MANY PEOPLE to the wedding and should cut the list. they claimed they couldn't cut it any more.
well fast fwd to the week of the wedding.....the sheer # of people would have been a fire hazard....soooooooooo the bride made the groom call all his co-workers who RSVP'd yes...and told them, 2 days before the wedding, 'i'm sorry but we don't have the room to have you there--you can't come!'
is that horrible or what?!?
btw--there were sooooo many tables and people that they actually had to have a table partly on the dance floor.

I went to a wedding once where teh oval tables were SO close to eachother that in order for me to get out of my seat - not only everyone on MY side of the table had to get up and move AWAY from the table BUT everyone from the row BEHIND me had to do the same!!!!! they SQUISHED us in there!!

I am not going to say tacky. I am going to say flat out rude and greedy IMO.

WOW! What was the point??? If they had money to invite so many extra guests they should have had the wedding in a bigger place.

wow rude first of all.......but the hall tells you you are inviting too many people and you go ahead just to cut the list 2 days before
I did go to a wedding and we had about 18 people at one of those round tables i stayed at the bar most of the night because I couldnt even pull my chair IN to the table
