I've been noticing lots of dates lately for 2006 and even 2007 and I realized that by then, I might have

Really!! 2006 will be my TWENTY YEAR HS REUNION!!!!! 2007 will be my last year in my THIRTIES ...

I've been noticing that too. I give these girls credit because there is no way I could ever have been engaged that long (no offense to anyone who was, that's just not me) my engagement was 8 months and that was long enough

I totally agree. My engagement was 9 months and I planned from OOT.

Ditto. But then again it makes the planning process a little easier. Gives you some more time and flexibility in deciding your vendors, the reception, etc. I know I'm so impatient, so I would go crazy waiting 2 to 3 years.

My engagement was 6 months and that was plenty of time -- would have done it sooner if I could have. I guess $$ is an issue and people have to save up....although our families did not contribute one dime.

I see the first poster (USUK) on here is expecting quadruplets?? Is that right???

Farah either you have quick pregnancies or you are having quadruplets!!! WHich is it?? COngrats!! LOL..

Hey I have a wedding at Raphael tonight!! Can't wait to experience it as a guest!

I was engaged for three years. It helped tremendously because we paid for our own wedding and hubby's business was just taking off when we got engaged. It made the last year of our engagment so much better because we could actually RELAX and focus on us w/o the last minute stresses. Plus if you book early, you get a discount, etc.

i don't know...with all that time, i would second guess every single one of my decisions! i planned in 8 months and it was still a bit too long. i guess it is good for financial reasons, but i needed a swift kick in the behind and a short period of time will do that. as for what usuk said...i feel the same way about by that time, i could be a mom!

well, my date is 2006, and that is because my FH is a United States Marine currently serving in Iraq. Also, some of the other girls with dates far away are younger and paying themselves.

My FH and I are paying ourselves and with a military and graduate student *future educator* salary, it is hard.

We've booked our hall and made some plans but we are kind of just enjoying being engaged at the moment or at least we were until he got shipped over seas now I have bigger things to worry about then my wedding. All plans have come to a halt until his safe return.

OMG!!!!! Kara!!!! I just meant that I may be a mommy - not that I'm having QUADS!!!! I think my husband would freak out!!!!! We're not even TTC!!!!

How was the wedding at Raphael?

LOL I kinda figured but I thought it was funny to see so many baby faces!!

The wedding -- was great! Julie did a fantastic job -- excellent food as to be expected. It was a beautiful day so we got some great pics. of the vineyard and the building (the ones our photographer didn't think of getting). I love that place, I really do.....

We were the opposite we had a short engagement just long enough to have a Catholic Mass followed by a great reception, since my husband is Active Duty. Then we had a problem with the date and rescheduled. But in total our engagement was 7 months and even though we were young 22 engaged, 23 married the short notice gave us some amazing deals since if the dates were available the vendors wanted to book!

I would have gone nuts if i had that much time to plan. As it was i had six months and i felt like it took for ever for the day to finally come around.. I would loose my mind if i had that much time.
