OMG YEY!!!!!!! ***Update

Yesterday I went to a seminar here at work for a rotation program they offer. It is basically 2.5 years and you move around in different areas etc. It is a really great opportunity if you can get in..

Well after I went I emailed my boss to tell him I went bc I figured he would find out anyhow. He is on vacation but he just called me and talked to me about it for an hour.. I thought he would be mad but he was really supportive and said he is going to make a few phone calls to make sure I get an interview!!

Keep fingers crossed... It could be a step in the right direction! I dont want to get my hopes up.. I also need to find out more information first to make sure It is def. something I want to do.. but it feels really good to know I am at least keeping my options open!

Update: I officially applied! AHHH im nervous. MY boss called me and pretty much talked me into it he said I would be perfect for it.. and he also called 2 of the people in charge of doing interviews and put in a good word!!

I keep going back and forth in my mind if I should apply or not... AHH. My boss said to do it and his boss (who actually runs the program) said he would support me...

I just dont know what to do! Its a long commitment.. and Im nervous

Also there are like 35 applicants and they are only taking 4 ppl... so I probably wont get in anyhow

Definitely do it!!!!!! It sounds like a wonderful opportunity! And don't psyche yourself out of it!!!!! If you apply, you have a good shot at getting it, and your current boss is supportive! Be the positive, vibrant person we all know you are and they'll be foolish not to take you!

I am trying to weigh all the pros and cons. The cons basically being that it is about a 3 year commitment and its an intense training program which means NO babies and NO maternity leave (i was kind of already getting the fever).. also it wont be as laid back as what Im used to.. I can pretty much do whatever I want at my current position... i guess thats all I can think of.

There are alot of pros... good exposure, good networking, more valuable to the company, work hands on with the CFO of the company, safe from layoffs (if they happen again)...

I am so nervous haha I emailed my boss to call me (hes on vaca in N. Carolina) so that he can tell me what to do.

I think the only thing to weigh there is the baby itch. It sounds like otherwise the pros really outweigh the cons, and you seem to dislike where you are now so this would be a good opportunity, but if your really anxious for kids then that is something to think about. How old are you? Can you hold off 3 years or does that put you past when you feel you should have them? As for getting it, I think the support of your boss is a sign that you have a pretty good shot, so I wouldn't worry about that. Just try!

I will be 28 by the time I start the program.. once its starts its 27 months long.. I was hoping to have babies by the time i was 30 but if I do this I cant start until i am around 31.. I guess its not the biggest deal in the world.. but I have had the itch recently!
