Are these beaches close to DUMBO? Brighton beach and manhattan beach. Are they pretty? I wanted to do Jones beach for my Day After pics but its too far from our first location. Are these regular beaches with pretty beach sunsets?

They are not close to DUMBO. They are on the other side in southern Brooklyn. Manhattan Beach is small, but its nice. If you plan on taking pictures there, you don't want to do it in the middle of the summer - gets way too crowded! But you can probably get some great pictures if you're going off-season - I would say starting in the next few weeks or so. Brighton Beach is much bigger and you can also get some nice pictures there also IMO. HTH.
PS- The picture in my avatar is from Coney Island.

D(own) U(nder) the M(anhattan) B(ridge) O(verpass) is NOT close to Brighton or Manhattan beach.
a simple google maps search will show you how far they are.
I would say, no they are not as pretty as Jones Beach, but I don't find Jones Beach too appealing neither.

ITA.
Google Maps or Mapquest will show you exactly how far apart they are.
If you're just looking for a picture location, and not for a beach to go to, I think you'd get a lot of awesome shots at Coney Island.
But, again, not close to DUMBO.

sometimes google maps has photos people take of certain places and post them on there... so you might be able to see what the beaches look like.

I agree. I took my beach pictures at Coney Island and was very happy with them. And Manhattan Beach, Brighton Beach and Coney Island are all about 10 minutes away from each other, so distance isn't really an issue as far as picking between those 3.

I know there was another 07 Bride who took pictures near the amusement park and they came out really nice. I can't remember her name, but if I do I'll let you know. Either way, whatever your preference is I'm sure the pictures will come out great. Good luck.

Re: One more Brooklyn Beach question
From Google Maps,
A is DUMBO
B is Coney Island
If you've ever driven around Brooklyn, that is NOT a short distance ... except maybe at 4am on a Tuesday

Re: One more Brooklyn Beach question
I grew up in that area. I lived a 10 minute walk to Manhattan Beach, and would get in my car and drive for 40 minutes to Jones Beach if I felt like a Beach Day. That has to tell you something. And Manhattan Beach is the nicest of the 3 (the cleanest and least crowded - but it also has the least to do and is the least accessible by public transportation).
Also, if you're looking for a sunset, you're going to need a beach that faces WEST - and I can't think of any. Maybe in Staten Island? They have tons of beaches, but I can't picture if they go up the west side.

I think you are shiit out of luck, I dont know of any beaches that are 'close' to where you will be taking pics.
I would choose one location and stick to that to get the most out of your time and $
