sadly, Hershey has kennel cough... which i heard it something that most dogs/puppies get if they come from a shelter
so we had to leave hershey home today b/c its contagious to other dogs (usually DH brings hershey to work to hang out with BIL's dog @ the office)
so we created a nice little area in the living room that was sectioned off by baby gates.... mainly b/c we didnt want him creating havoc in the house AND we have miller (the cat) and although they have been getting along, we didnt want to leave them unattended together all day
so DH just called me... he just got home and some how Hershey got out of the blocked off area!! we have no idea how... there is no evidence that he wiggled between the wall and gate!!!!
thankfully, miller is fine, he only sh!t once in the house and nothing is destroyed

Re: our pup has kennel cough
aww I am sorry Hershey has kennel cough. I heard a lot of dogs can get that from being in a shelter or dog store from the other animals.
However, about the gate thing- my parents have a chaviler king charles and OMG can that thing fly over the baby gates my parents have up. We couldn't figure it out either when he started getting out of the kitchen when we weren't home. But one day we saw him wehn the door bell rang...just standing by the gate and the next thing he FLEW over it. All four legs were spread out in the air like SuperMan :
Maybe that si what Hershey did if you can't figure out any other way he could have got loose.

LOL i know!! i guess that is really the ONLY way he could have gotten out!!!!
its just so funny b/c he seems too tiny to be able to jump over the gates lol
maybe miller and hershey worked together to set him free

Re: our pup has kennel cough
Aw kennel cough is awful. My puppy had it when we first got him too. I use to sit in the bathroom with him on my lap, close the door, and run the shower really hot for the steam. That seemed to help sometimes. Do it twice a day at least. Congrats on your first great escape. There will be more to come. Mine is also a master of escape.

Re: our pup has kennel cough
Ollie had kennel cough when we first got her too. She was on some medicine and she was as good as new in a week or 2. We also realized ollie escaped when we got home today and sadly I had to part with yet another pair of boots. It sounds like your pup is very well behaved! I hope he feels better soon
