Our work party last night
So we had our company party last night. They rented out an empty old mill & hired party planners to 'transform' the place. Ok, so I have to admit it looked really nice. They hired professional lighting people, they had students from Berklee School of Music singing gospel Christmas songs, beautiful flowers & big comfy couches everywhere. It was very much something you would see on a We Channel special.
BUT dinner was WEIRD. Sometimes party planners get too creative for their own good. Here's what they did:
They had the dining area hidden behind a big curtain. As they pulled it back, there were looooong tables with stools pulled up to them (keep in mind, this was a 200 person party). So instead of tables & chairs, you sat at a bar. A tapas bar. One side of the room was Japanese & one was Tuscan. There was no order to the dinner, it was just servers behind the makeshift bar giving you small plates on demand. You had like 5 to choose from. It was so weird. No appetizer, salad, nothing like that. Just 5 dishes and you got a 5 bite plate. The Japanese side was better, they at least served some sushi & pad thai (which isn't Japanese![]()
