Past Brett Matthews brides went for my album today, ETA: I just got the original contract...

We just got back from B rett M atthews.

Let me start off from the begining when we where looking for photgraphers. They where the most expensive but I loved them and their work. When we signing the contract I noticed that it said we got 1 dvd and 2 VHS Mike and I said we thought we got 3 dvds We questioned him on it and he said no I say you get 1 dvd and 2 vhs. We let it go. Mike can just burn extra copies.

That same day we picked out the album we liked. We went with the most expensive album because the guy said with this album you can do whatever you want with it. You can put more then 1 picture on a page you can do some panaramics.

Today we go and we do the album .She told us we pay for the pictures not the page. she mentioned to us that if we wanted to do the panaramic (which we did) its $195.00 extra. They NEVER said that. I was a little upset. Then we pick all the pictures and arrange them some pages have 2 pictures some have 3 pictures on a page. We do all that. She writes up the bill... We are getting charged 65.00 for the pages (about 8) that have 2 pictures on them. 85.00 for the page that has 3 pictures on it. They NEVER told us that. Not even while we where doing the album.

She added it up and it came too $826.00.

Thats just for the extras in the album. We didn't leave a deposit I had work at 2 I called 2 tell them ID be late. They said until we pay the 926.00 (100.00 balance) they wont send out the pictures for the album. Cause I have 1000.00.

Anyone else have this problem.


ETA: Just got the contract it says included in price REV album 10x10 50 pics included. Nothing about paying extra.

Well, I go in December to design the album, but I heard this happens. One day when I was in there 2 girls were talking about how you won't leave the design session without having to pay an extra 2K.. I am so sorry you have to come up with this extra money without being aware you would have to. I feel your pain...we close on our new home in a few weeks and then will have to give BM MORE $$$$....so mad about this!!!

I think I have the same album as you. Is it black pages with different size pics in different layouts?

I am extremely unhappy with B rett M atthews. I have posted before how unhappy I am with the photographers they gave me and the assortment of pics. Don't get me wrong, the ones I have are beautiful but I thought they would be different. Maybe b/c they gave me totally different photographers the day before my wedding....yes the old bait and switch they pulled on me.

I will discuss this with them AFTER I get my album!

Really. I am sorry about what they did to you, I can not afford to pay and extra grand to get my album that they never told us about. I really feel like calling Channel 4 and having them go there and pretendin they are getting married and see if they tell them the same thing,.

It taked 6 to 7 months for the album to come in and they cant even start it till I can pay the extra grand.

The album takes six months once you choose the pictures? Wow.

Thanks Wendy, I don't know what to do. I am so upset. I am almost to the point that i either don't want an album or just give me an album with 1 picture on every page (which is not the type of album I paid for)

That is so ridiculous...maybe you can talk to them and pay in installments. I mean...you already paid your original package so obviously you are good for it.

This company thinks they are so wonderful and they are just really good salesmen...I can't wait until I am done with them....I will be voicing my opinion to them and the BBB if they don't accomodate me!

Hi,
I am soooo sorry to hear that they are doing this to you. It is wrong that they didnt tell you and you should get a discount or some other arrangement.
I went with a less expensive photographer but I do remember that even he charged extra for the page that were needed for the extras we added and the price does vary based on format so that is one area they maynot be willing to negotiate on since they have to pay the book binder.
I really hope you get this worked out.

We were told that we pay per page not picture when we booked but I asked specifically about that so maybe that's why . I didn't know anything about the panoramic pic, that's good to know. I don't think I'd want it $200 badly.

We're not getting our video from them so unfortunately I don't have any info on this.

Maybe FM bethsiar since she should be about a month ahead of you on this process?

ETS: just realized the 2nd paragraph is not really clear. Basically yes, I know that we get whatever it is (50?) pictures, 50 pages period and that any customization of that will cost more $$.

She told us today about 50 times you pay per picture not page you can put as many pictures as you want, YA FOR 65 EACH OR 85 EACH!

That's weird, we contracted for the number of pictures not pages. It didn't matter how they were arranged although a panoramic was itemized on the contract (which makes sense that it would be treated differently).

I hope you get it straighted out.

Today she told us you paid per picture not per page. When I asked her oh can I put this pic and this pic on the same page she said 'sure' then she went through my proofs (not pictures I had picked for the album) and found three black and whites of the cake put all three on the same page and said 'wow look at that it looks so pretty I agreed. She put them togehter. Well those three picture cost me 85. And the 2 pics cost me 65 Each page that is like that.

We contracted per picture too. She even said so herself. Although we where never told we would be charged 195 for a panaramic when we booked and picked out the most expensive album I can understand that. But 65 each page you put 2 pictures on.

Actually we contracted with them for 60 pictures....anything more has an added cost.

Oh don't get me started with them! I have a bunch of friends who used them and I myself had recommended them to my cousin (before I had my wedding lucky for them they didn't have the same experience that we did) and yes they were the most expensive but I got the sucker talk too. 'so come on what is there to think about, this is the album you want this is what you'll get' I loved the idea of borders, full page mixes at NO extra cost OR SO WE THOUGHT! First off I paid ALOT to begin with and we added close to $1000 on top of that. And then on top of that my DVD came out horrible!! I'm so upset I don't even want to think about it.

Well My DH has no desire to watch the DVD to even edit it. The dam video guy missed our kiss at the church.

The owner was there. She threw in two extra DVD for that 'misunderstanding' (thats what she called it she told us there is no WAY he told us that So she called us a liar I think its funny that both mike and I heard him say that) THANKS cause that probably costs you what an extra 10 bucks to make. Mike was just going to burn them on his DVD burner which is what the guy told us to do from there anyway.

How could the video guy miss the kiss at the church???????????? Not the I pronounce you husband and wife kiss...I wouldnt pay for it.
