i feel the same way. i'm very vocal about it.
when they assigned my photographer i said i didn't want her, she isn't even from NY.

i was promised she'd be fine.
she really was a sweet heart
but we're not happy with our pictures.
we were miserable on the day of

we were told our proofs were beautiful and we'd love them

out of 1100... we LIKE about 8.

not at all. i actually loved all my pictures. who was your photog? did you tell them what you wanted? we told them we wanted some traditional and then some photojournalistic. i also sent them some ideas of pics i wanted. we got just waht we asked for

Same with us - I love them and I don't know how I'm going to pick the best ones for my album.

I was happy with my pics..what I am not happy about is having to wait a whole year after the wedding for my proofs on a CD!

I loved loved love Jesse and loved our pics!

She was beyond awesome and I want her to follow me around with her camera so I can always look that great.

She did everything I asked for... and went above and beyond the entire day.

I unfortunetly was not happy at all with Patken. Our photographer was John and although very nice and we barely knew he was there, we were disappointed. Some of the poses are very unflattering and I think silly and unncessary. We mentioned we didn't want that many posed shots and yet thats mostly what we got. Plus I have like 2 shots with me and my girls and hardly any of me getting ready or our rings. I am not saying I hate my pics, in fact I think our album will come out amazing, hopefully, but when I look at other people's pictures I am a little jealous.

They are also not the best with customer service either. We used them for our video as well and when we picked everything up, our wedding ceremony is missing some audio and almost the entire dancing section was frozen and now we have to wait 2 more weeks for them to fix it!!! Grrr....

They can be very frustrating and overall I wish we went with someone else :(

Posts like this make me so confused!!! I just booed with them and I see 1/2 great reviews and 1/2 bad reviews. I am really getting nervous wether I made the right choice!

my best advice to you is to SPEAK UP! these photograhers are very talented but if you dont tell them what you want then they are going to go awith a traditional style. they will go with your run of the mill pictures. you are paying them thousands of dollars so you have a right to tell them what you want!
when patken assigns you a photographer, set up a meeting with them to get a feel for them. tell them what you want, show them pics of what you like. they are more than willing to sit with you. my friend used them years ago and didnt like her pics. her and her husband never told them what style they wanted. well how is patken supposed to know what you like??
i adored our photographer (jessie). she took the time to meet with us and get to know us and our personalities. we told her what we liked and she asked us about things we'd be willing to do. we used her for our e-pics as well and i LOVE them so much! (pics in album)
seriously, dont be nervous, they know what they are doing...just direct them down the road YOU want your pictures to be!

I was very disappointed. It wasn't totally Patken's fault...my main issue was that we also had zap shots from our DJ and they did an AMAZING job and we got the CD of 300 pics before leaving the RH. When we finally got Patkens the shots were so similar that I felt I'd seen them already and wasn't excited. The portraits and some of the BP party pics are nice but that's about it. So out of over 400 pics we only have about 100 'original' pics we haven't seen before.

More disappointing was that there were only 3 shots to chose from for TY cards.

My photog was nice during the meeting and I was very descriptive and sent a detailed email...but I wasn't as blown away as I was hoping to be.
