People GO HOME!!!!!!!!

Ok Im venting. Tree lighting is today and since I work on vanderbilt RIGHT BY Grand Central, guess who has been jostled ALL DAY long and wants to sock someone with her own rendition of Rocky? ME! LOL

GAWD I HATE the holidays in NYC...All the dang tourists at frickin 7:30 am and the stores arent open yet! I just want to go to work and have to face the usual morning commuters who turn into depraved delinquents without their morning infusion of coffee calm, PLUS all the tourists....

Its killing me..and then I need to go on over to the Port Authority...MORE tourists!

You just reminded me that it'll be awful walking back to Penn Station tonight.

I get that we need the tourist industry, but I don't think tourists should be allowed within 4 blocks of Penn Station at rush hour.

Lmao I used to work down there!!!! I worked on Madison and between 29th and 30th street... >< AWFUL!!!!!!!! Just trying to get to Penn Station amde me wnat to beat people with my knockoff Prada purse!

my LOORD i can't stand it either...but for me it's year round.. lol. I have to go through mid-town on a regular basis for auditions and it drives me nuts! Atleast now it's decorated pretty for the holidays..it actually makes me feel a little better about all the people who walk way to slow, and come to an immediate HAULT in their path to snap pictures lol.

Thsoe people! LOL I like rainy days...I carry a really big umbrella and when the rain stops, it doubles as a knee wacker!

That makes me so much happier. I was told by a hotel that I am running a meeting at that it was Thursday and my European clients thought it would be a good idea to go (as a group) -- Oh well guess they will miss it!

I do feel your pain -- I used to work on 7th -- hated walking around this time of year!

last year on this day(tree lighting, it was actually the 29th last year) at 4:30 we got the call that my mom needed to come into the city from LI within a very small window of time, to recieve her double lung transplant.... I swear traffic was horrific! but by some miracle and probally someone's help from above we got there in under an hour, but i do remeber how packed the city was... I also remember trying to get a hotel room durning that time since I couldn't be more the 10 mins away and there weren't any rooms, or they were over $1000!!! so i slept many nights on the hospital floor

Uh yeah I work on 5th and 47th like 1 1/2 blocks from Rockefeller center and I usually leave at 4:30 but some bright people decided that today would be a good day to have a design meeting after hours. God only knows how long it will take for me to get home tonight!!!

I do NOT miss working in the city at ALL when it's this time of year. I worked by Radio City - it was ALWAYS insane and you could barely walk down the street. The tree lighting is DEFINITELY the worst though.

NO sympathy for you! I work on Grand Central but I live in NJ so need to walk crosstown to get to the Port Authority-cut right through Times Square. This morning it was Nascar at frickin 7:30am and now its tourists...AND Im sick so Im grumpy...people better watch those knees....

I was in the city last night to see the Christmas Show and PS, it was FABULOUS..

There were people milling about in Rockefeller Center but I can imagine what you went thru today!!!

I didn't even think of that I work right by Grand Central and will be heading to Penn in a few. Ugh I hate tourists!!! Especially when you're walking behind them and they stop out of no where!! ugh! ok heading out to deal with the masses!!!

I survived the trip home! Of course Ithe most annoying guy ahd to sit next to me..Mind you i look like hell and TOLD HIM i have the flu, yet he plops his neurotic butt right next to me when there were TONS of other seats available cause I left early. The WHOLE trip he kept looking at his atch, fidgeting with his paper and covering his mouth when I sneezed or coughed...>< I admit I threw a few extra coughs in there hoping he;d get his *** up and MOVE but he didn't...

Took me an hour and a half to get home! Tree traffic!
