People that did not attend the wedding

People that did not attend the wedding

but sent you gifts, what did you write in their thank you?
'Thank you for your very thoughtful gift' does not sound like it is enough.

And I am not sure if it is right to say 'sorry you couldn't make it to the wedding'.

And example would be great!
Thanks Girls!

Thank you for thinking of us on our special day could be something you could add to what you wrote.

We were disappointed you couldn't attend, but we look forward to seeing you soon [if there's another event where you know you'll see the person]...

We were disappointed you couldn't attend, but it meant so much to know you were thinking of us...
