i havent set up anything yet, cuz there was oil in the tank when we bought the house. so i just wanna get it taken care of before we have none and i have to take a cold shower! LOL
i called windor and they basically told me its better to not get into a contract cuz prices are high?!?
im soo confused...i just want my dad to do it for me? LOL

That's what we were told last winter too! Prices were high so it was actually cheaper for us just to watch the gauge and buy it when we needed it.
The COD website really helped. And if it makes you feel better, we filled up 3 times since we owned the house (closed in October). Once in end of December (when we got back from our HM, once in the end of January/beginning of Feb) and the last fill up was the first week of March and we still have half a talk!

We don't, but my parents do and use Petro. I believe you can 'lock' a rate so if they prices go up, you're safe. I'm not sure how that works though or if they still do it. I do know that my parents get automatic deliveries as well.

Just a note about automatic deliveries: I believe they come without notice. Nothing like finding a bill that's $$$ in your mailbox after a rough day at work!

Does your oil tank have a gauge on it? That's how we know otherwise I'd be clueless. DH said if it didn't we could have dropped a dip stick down in it (like for oil for a car).

i should prob know this, but i dont...ill have to check and see if there is a gauge when i get home! ugh i can deal with out heat, but not a hot shower so i really wish this was magically done for me, and it was super inexpensive!

We have Meehan... and we have a 'ceiling plan' so that the most we ever pay is $2.99, but if it's less than that we just pay what the price is.

We do not pay for the oil but our landlord uses Metro. You should probably consider getting a contract with the oil company to cover repairs and problems apparently it is much cheaper than having to pay for service. Also there is no hurry to fill the oil tank if you are not going to be heating your home for the spring/summer season. Our oil burner is usually turned off for the summer months and restarted in the fall.

we have a ceiling plan of $3.39 good thing is whenever they came to deliver oil during the winter months it was always under $3.39
last year we had such a huge credit because of the budget plan we didnt pay a bill for 3months. when we renewed the started billing us $100 less per month.
i like the budget plan because you pay the same amount every month. no surprises. but thats just me
