Personal question.......

Personal question.......

Has anyone ever taken Provera to bring on their af's? I was told to start my prescription right away, and I am nervous about what the side effects are or how bad my af will come after not having it since July.

Thanks.

Re: Personal question.......

Noreen,

I took it twice in the past year because my AF never showed. It's supposed to jump start your system back to normal and get your body to ovulate again so that you can have an AF each month (you won't get AF if your not ovulating).

I took a 10-day Rx (they can prescribe 5-days as well) and had absolutely no side effects. AF arrived approximately 3-4 days after I finished the 10-day Rx. The first time I took it last April, AF arrived then, but not again at the end of May like it should have. I took my second Rx of it in July and by early Sept when AF had not arrived again, I thought I was going to take it a 3rd time. Turns out I got PG (yes, we were trying) and thus it did it's job and got my body to ovulate on its own.

So, go ahead and take it. You will not have any side effects, hopefully (I had none at all). When AF did come it wasn't heavy at all like the doc warned me it might (I was about 4 months without AF). Any other question, feel free to FM me.

Re: Personal question.......

I took it after i did not get AF for 4 months after my wedding... I took it for 4 days and it came about 2 days later and I felt that it lasted 4 days longer than usual and the cramps were really bad...
