Pet Peeves

What are some of your pet peeves. What really drives you crazy!!!!

1. People that speak in baby voices. A girl I know does not eat lunch she eats 'wunch'.

2. Using foreign terms and pretending it is normal. A girl I worked with did a semester in England. She was away for 2 months and lived with all Americans. When she came back she referred to her house as her flat and the bathroom as the loo. Add on the fake accent I thought I was working with Madonna.

3. Cars with 1 license plate. I don't know why but it annoys me.

4. The denim suit. A denim jacket worn with jeans. It looks like a poor man going on a job interview.

Also i don't have to resort to spelling tricks because i have a photogenic memory.

It is so sir real you mention this. I too have a photogenic memory sometimes I believe I am psycho because my memory allows me to remember things before they happened.

So I've now figured out that LIW Post totals have a direct inversely proportionate ratio to work productivity levels (are you impressed yet?) .

We will continue later/tomorrow, as this thread covers a lot of ground....

One last thing, does it annoy you when SOME PEOPLE get to leave work early just cause there bosses are out of town?

My female co-workers who don't wash their hands in the ladies room. I just can't get over people. One woman even said to me that she doesn't wash her hands cause it so drying. Ah, hello thats why there is hand lotion.

mine are mostly pet peeves from my job. i'm a waitress

i hate when people signal 'check' in the air. its rude.

(this is just me, some people dont mind) i hate when people call me by my name. you dont know me.

i hate when people act like i'm a slave rather than the middle man from the chef to you. don't ***** me out because the cooks screwed up your order. it most likely wasn't me. i am paid to pay attention to what you want to eat. ugh.

oh and the biggest. when i get you something to drink, ask if anyone else wants anything, and when i come back you keep asking for more stuff. i asked you the first time what you wanted. i don't need to run back and forth for your dumb a$$ when i have other tables.

HEEEEEY I only have one license plate!!! I have a novelty plate on the front does that count



Hey me too!!! I have no choice to have one I am in FL.



Mine are:

1) Slow a** drivers who decided at the last minute to go in your lane after you decided to go around them.

2) I have to get a book for Floridians on how to use blinkers.

3) People at work who just talk, talk, talk on the phone or fall asleep at thier desks. That really kills me.

4) People who can't use the English vocabulary properly. Here is an example: I was going into a Walmart once and a lady came and asked me if I wanted a buggy. I just looked at her and said 'what'. She then said 'You want my buggy'. I finally realized she was asking me if I wanted her shopping cart. My DH was laughing so hard. How hard is it to say cart. This one really annoys me.

Hate none waving people, or the people you hold the door for and you stand and wait for them to be courteous.....and nothing....I always feel its necessary to yell you welcome, then they say TY IM an ASSS I know


I HATE when I hold the door open for someone and they don't say thank you!! And I DO yell 'You're welcome!!!!!' And sometimes they still keep walking!!!

And once, me and this other girl were going into a store at the same time and I let her go in first- and she didn't hold the freaking door!!!!!!!!! Let it slam in my face!!!!!!!! I said 'THANKS' and she just gave me nasty look and walked away!!! ***!???

Elevator hogs.

I just had one... gets on the elevator which has ONE panel of buttons, hit your floor and stand RIGHT IN FRONT of the panel. Don't move, don't ask me what floor I need, and FORCE me to hit your lapel as I SNEAK in to hit my floor. It's all I can do not to slap you with my free hand you clod...



Colette......you're doing it again!!!! I almost spit my water out on my monitor!! those bastards! they deserve to get hit in the lapel!!!

what's even better is it's now 6:55 as I read what you wrote at 4:14 can you believe I actually had to do some work today after coming in sick.....pffffttt the nerve of some people

Friday's has been downhill since they took my beloved Oreo Madness of the menu. We started a petition to bring it back but it failed. I have been boycotting ever since.

I like Outback and Houlihans for chains. We prefer to gp to local non chain places. The menu is not set in stone and the mashed potatoes are real.


I started my Friday's boycott after they did away with Pizzadillas. That was YEARS ago. I'm still bitter about it.



And they took wraps off the menu i have no purpose in life without a wrap.


I heart wraps. There is a place in the city near Columbia that makes this turkey wrap with stuffing and mashed potatoes and cranberry, etc all rolled up. It's like Thanksgiving in a wrap. I could die just thinking about how very far I am from it at this moment.


ok my comment on this one, now 3 hours later lol......there's another place in the Financial district that makes these Turkey Day wraps- it's a deli named Rockwell's at the intersection of Water Street & Broad Street........mmmmmmm

People who always have to act like victims. Nothing is their fault-someone else caused the problem..i.e.: I only drank two bottles of vodka and left my children to play in traffic because my ex verbally abused me that morning. Take some responsibility.

I can't stand when its freakin cold out, and windy (tonight) and your trying to get all your groceries in the car and then return the shopping cart so it doesn't blow into anyones car, and people nearly run you down when your in the middle of the parking lot, crossing to put the damn cart back!!!!
because part 2 of that, can't stand it when people can't put the carts back! you know how much damage they do to your car? Your legs weren't broken when you took the cart, whats it to put it back

I can't stand slow drivers
Or the drivers who drive with their brights on as soon as its dusk!
Drivers who cut me off

Can't stand people at work, who know if they slack off and do a crappy job, the boss will just give their work to someone else who can handle it (me )

(no i didnt sit here and think of this on the spot, this is something i came up w/ a while ago for something else....don't ask. i know its ridiculous but thought id share in case anyone found it amusing or had similar pet peeves. and don't worry, i have a much longer list of the things i LOVE about life, though this list makes me sound miserable! its just a joke!)

starers, intrudes of personal space, morning ppl, 'wet turkey' from the deli, garlic & onions staying with me forever, dry skin...especially hands (its weird but I feel like I can't breathe), how my nose itches when I brush my teeth..i sneeze when i pluck my eyebrows..and my throat feels weird when i clean my ears..IM WEIRD!, amaretto or cherry/almond, any time a condiment gets on your hand- mayo, mustard, ketchup...EW!, when people touch my food with their yuck hands or dirty nails!!!, the sound of hocking a loogie & when ppl do it in public like its not a problem, anxiety, overheating, beyond relaxation to absolute boredom, my impatient nature..i need immediate gratification but im workin on it (youngest child syndrome), smell of cilantro...gives me an instant migraine!, popcorn & how I feel I still have to try it each time like I'll magically have changed my mind about it, candy corns & the fact that you have to eat them regardless on halloween just because, same with fortune cookies...but don't ya always take one nibble? well ok, i do so the fortune will come true..yea I'm crazy, straight black coffee, anything hot/spicy, pepper, 2% milk, throwing up...you can't breathe & how you have an aversion to that food for years to come, writing papers, public speaking, spiders, weather below 60' or above 100', when your pants roll up in the middle of the night (what i call a 'huck finn'), when your arm falls asleep at night & you wake up & have to chuck it around with the other arm til feeling comes back, few hours of daylight in winter, gold jewelry, appointments, pudding skin or the close relative- burnt macaroni skin, fruit at the bottom of my yogurt...fruity chunks in general EW (i have sensory issues with that), desserts that don't involve chocolate...anyone who knows me well knows my quote 'It aint dessert if it aint chocolate,' the two end pieces on a loaf of bread, sleeping under bed sheets, crowded areas, the dentist's drill, yea that smell of burning tooth gets ya every time...

and my all time biggest pet peeve, when ppl park in handicap spots & dont need to. that one affects me personally so im hypersensitive to it.
