Photo help

so I have been married a year and still are yet to have an album in my hands. My one regret would be using a 'friend' for my photographer. He missed some key photos and now I cant turn back. I dont know much about Photoshop and I thought that he did. Anyway, can someone fill me in on the types of things you can do with in. Can you lighted pics that are too dark? Is there anyway to create pics that werent actaully taken by combining other pics?
Any help would be GREAT!!!! Does anyone know someone that could maybe help me?

I don't know much about photo shop but I believe you can lighten and darken pics, correct red eye, and crop pics (there are other things I can't remember)
I know there are programs where you can combine pictures meaning take something from another but the pictures have to match up. I don't know if photo shop does that. I know my photograph had to take my sisters eyes from one group shot and place them on the other group shot because her eyes were closed. The pictures had to be almost exactly the same though.

Try searching online or bring your proofs to another studio and asking if they can fix them.
