It's been 6 weeks since my wedding and I haven't heard anything from my photographers. I'm not getting albums or printed proofs, just a DVD with my photos on it. I feel like this is taking a long time and I'm getting anxious about it.
I've left a couple of voicemails and emails asking when my pictures will be ready and they haven't returned any of my messages. I'm not trying to be a pain, I just want to get started on my thank you cards and albums. I think I'd feel better if they at least called me back to give me some sort of update.
Am I being unreasonable? What would you do?
Update: It has now been over 3 months since my wedding and I still haven't received anything from my photographers. Dh was able to get in contact with them once when my Grandmother died in November. They sent me a couple of pictures of her from the wedding and told DH that they had a family emergency of their own and that's why it's been hard to contact them. Then they said our photos would be ready the week after Thanksgiving. Well it's 3 weeks past and we haven't heard a thing. They aren't answering our calls or emails. I'm at a loss. I have no idea what to do. I really wanted to have our TY's and parent albums done for Christmas, but it's not going to happen. Any advice or suggestions?

Re: photographer issue
I'd stop by their office during normal business hours (most wedding photogs are closed on Mondays it seems, though) to inquire there.
What does your contract say about how long it will take to get the pictures?

They don't have an office. It's a husband/wife team that work from home. The contract doesn't specify a time frame for getting the pictures back, just what is included in my package.

Thats a really long time. My photgrapher gave me my pics ona DVD the night of the wedding before he left. Are they editing your pictures before giving them to you?

Re: photographer issue
that definitely seems like a long time just for a dvd. I was going to say go to the office but I see they work from home. I would just keep trying to call and email. Hope you get in touch with them soon!!!

Re: photographer issue
That does seem long to me (I had my printed proofs in less than 4 weeks), but I guess going to the office is out... Are they editing all the photos? That may explain the timeframe somewhat... I know some photographers can take up to 3 - 4 months to give you your proofs. Did they tell you how long it should take?
I'd keep calling and emailing within reason (i.e., not multiple times a day).
Good luck!

They may be color correcting the photos before they give them to you on a DVD. This can take some time. My proofs took 2 months to get. With that being said, it's not an excuse for them to not call you back.

I would keep calling.. If you paid for them, then you should have them.. I am sure it doesn't take them long to put them on a disk for you

Re: photographer issue
6 weeks is pretty short acutally for turnaround time for photos .. avg. is like 2-3 months.. The thing that bothers me is that they haven't returned you calls.. i would just call them everyday.. thats really rude of them.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not an unreasonalbe person, if it's going to take more time for the pics to be ready I can wait. I'm just asking that they call me back to tell me.

I am so sorry, sweetie!! Can't believe they are not returning your calls-that is very unprofessional.
I wish you the best of luck with this situation.

one word for you:
better business bureau
leave a voice message saying if you do not receive your photos by the end of the week, you are filing a complaint.
I just checked them out.... they have no file on bbb.org..... this threat could be very good ammo

They aren't a popular vendor on here. I did a search and only found one other bride that used them. Her wedding was a month after mine and it looks like she already has her pics.

I've thought about that. I hate to do it though because they are such nice people. I'm sympathetic to the hard time they are experiencing, but I have definitely lost most of my patience.
I'm thinking maybe I should send a certified letter first?
