Photographer question - missing proofs? I was watching my video and...

I was watching the video that our hall gave us (they have cameras running and a plasma screen during the wedding and we the tape at the end) (I don't have my professional video yet - my fault, not theirs) and I noticed the photographers taking several shots that I never got in my proofs!

Then I sat back and thought about it... there were NO bad shots in my proofs. I mean no pictures with my eyes half closed, or the subject looking the other way, no bad lighting, nothing. Every proof was pretty much flawless.

So I have to wonder... how many proofs did I NOT receive? Are there any that maybe I would have liked anyway? Did anyone else notice this and did you ask your photographer about those pictures?

This did happen to me. We had a GIANT picture of all the people we went to college with, like 30 people total. It was a posed picture - EVERYONE got on the Dance Floor. They didn't give us the proof. They also didn't give us the picture of me throwing the bouquet. I went back and complained and they managed to find those pictures and several others with my negatives.

Do you have your negatives yet?

I called them on this and they said they pick the best proofs and airbrush them so they arent going to do all that if your eyes are closed, or if they werent perfect clarity, etc.

Ask for your negatives and the proofs on a CD and you will get to see them all.

You should get them if that was in your contract. In ours it states when the job is complete.

We used Duet and I asked if there were more proofs and they said that they gave us all of them and the ones that didn't come out right (overexposure, etc) they leave out.
