picking out pics for album

ok so i just went through our proofs and picked 70 for our album. sooooo, youd think id go to the duet website and place my order. but i dunno...i am having dificulty being certain. was it hard for you girls to decide??? did u get other people's thoughts or just go with your choices? i guess i just feel like this will be my album forever so i want it to be good. and also, did u put fam and bridal party pictures in yr album or just u and DH???

heh.... I'm doing our album. we have a HUGE album, so I can put in several hundred pics....

I'm in the same boat as you concerning enlargements, though. I don't know which should be our formal portrait for our bedroom

I had to pick 100, and that was SOOOO hard. After getting it down to 102, I layed them all on the bed and went over them with DH. He vetoed a few and we replaced them.

He (and I eventaully agreed) said 'this is our wedding I want to see us' We did have BP and family pics, but mostly us. I was going to choose the BP walking into the church and reception, but DH said do church only. We also selcted about 4 of each family and about 3 of the whole BP. It was not easy by any means. I wouldn't do that if you paid me!!

we only get 50. I REFUSE to pay any more for extras b/c this wedding has already cost way too much. Its been 8 months and I still can't decide which ones.

We ended up with 70 pictures too. I could have probably picked a lot more, but it would have been too much . It was definitely hard & I went back & forth deciding on the final pics but I did it ASAP. I think I would have gone crazy if I kept looking at the proofs over & over. LOL. We did include some family & bridal party pics in the album. We should be getting the album layout in a few months. I have 170 pictures picked and Im having a really hard time pulling more out I am NEVER EVER going to get my album

I have NO clue how I'm gonna pick 50....right now I have 109 picked and I'm not done going through all the pics! I'm DOOMED!

defintiely have help from Duet... the photography gave us nic suggestions and ideas for layout i wouldn't have thought of...

Also, you HAVE to have pictures of your BP and your family in your album, IMO. they shared the day with you... i would say 1/2 of our album is group shots with friends, family, bridal party, etc.

I read in one of the wedding magazines that the album should tell the story of the day: think of it as made up of 4 parts 1. preparations, 2. formal pics, 3. wedding (ceremony), 4. reception.
Take the number of pics to go into your album and roughly allocate 1/4th to each area.
Maybe that will help you select pics.

I have the opposite problem I think we can pick 70 pictures and I could only find about 60 I really liked.

It helped to group all the photos together getting ready, group shots at the house, ceremony, after ceremony pics, reception. I put them all in piles then went through and picked my favorites and slowly I narrowed it down. I tried to do it with dh but he really didn't have any input and mostly said 'whatever you like babe' so I had my mom help.

We picked 75 pictures and let our photographer pick the last 25. After he picked the last 25 we just went through them quickly to OK them and that was it.
