Picking up thank you's tonight

So my question........there were about 3 people that came to the wedding with no gift and no card.
2 of the couples said, Oh we left the card at home blah blah blah. To this day when we see them, they still mention it.....we still have yet to get it.
Its okay whatever but what do you write in a Thank you to someone who didnt give a card or a gift?
I have all of the cards that were given to us in a box and was just going to work from that. OR do I not send them a thank you?

We had a few of those too; I just wrote 'Thank you for sharing in our special day. It meant alot to us to have you there.'

This is what we did too.

We sent a thank you card to EVERYONE who attended our wedding (regardless of whether or not they gave a gift) and thank you cards to those who didn't attend but sent a gift.

we sent a thank you to all of our guests for sharing in our day. that was more important to us then the gift. I guess it all depends on if the gift was more important then the guest actually spending your special day with you. If it was then I guess you shouldn't send them a thank you.

The gift was not more important then them being there but most poeple (i posted this on BHB also) said not to send a thank you if they didnt send a gift. Im asking to see what other people have done if this happened to them.

Just thank them for coming but make no mention of the gift. We had several of those. Not worth the aggravation. Could be a million reasons they did not give a gift.
