Pics of my keepsake box!

Original post by Teri

Thanks to Stef (for giving us the idea) and Stacedz (for telling me step-by step what to do!) I finally had some time to decoupage a keepsake box from wedding cards we received.

It turns out that I cut out way too many pictures and sayings - I thought I wouldn't have enough either! The box I used was a round one, maybe 1 foot in diameter, so it wasn't too large. I may just add an extra page in my scrapbook now and display the remaining card cuts outs - they're nice, and I don't want to waste them.

I also didn't originally want to have much space showing through between the cut outs, but given the size of my cards and the box, and I really didn't have much choice. It would have taken a lot more time and energy to get them in a better order.

Where do you get the boxes? Does Michaels have these?

They are so pretty!

Jenn - Yep, Michaels has them - for about $12 or so

Shamma - best part is that it's really easy! Once the cards are all cut, it's just a matter of deciding how to arrange them and then glue down!

We should have a 'Keepsake Box How-to' Party girls!

Very nice ladies. Thanks for sharing. I may attempt one of those at some point.

Terri, there are rules about how to cutting them out and how to arrange it?? you can't just free style with it????

It's totally free style, I didn't even think about it, I just started gluing them down!

Love them both ... I tell ya, Stacedz, we are going to have a craft party and you, my dear, can be our craft leader!!!

Shamma - Who said anything about rules?! LOL
When I said cut outs, I meant when I cut out the images, pictures or sayings I liked on the cards. If you use the box I did, you couldn't fit entire cards anyway. Personally, I like it better when it has that homemade hand cut look to it, but there certainly aren't any rules!

Cira/Stacey - I'd love to have a craft party

Cira, you are so cute....I can be the craft leader, yeah!!! And you can make all your goodies!

I started cutting the images/words I liked from the cards and pasted them down...I, like Teri, had much more cards than I had room. It is an easy project girls!
