Picture of my first attempt at my wedding scrapbook!
Original post by Teri
Ahhh - I'm newly addicted to this craft but it's a little overwhelming and frustrating at first!
I re-arranged this layout all afternoon, and I'm still unsure of everything so this has yet to be glued down! LOL I even used photo corners so that I don't ruin my proofs.
This is my first page for my wedding scrapbook. It's our e-pic, along with our 2 STD magnets.
The wording on top is part of a lyric that says 'From here to eternity, I'm asking you to share your life with me. Now and forever I guarantee, I'll always be by your side.' Then below 'Save the Date, Saturday, October 5, 2002'
The charm is a ring box with diamond e ring inside - it's supposed to be a wine charm.

Can I just say that I really envy your craft stores on LI? I dont have a single craft store anywhere near me! You would think NYC would have at least one right? Just venting!

Question for stampers: Reading these posts made me think - what do you use the pen or pencils for? Don't you just stamp something into the ink?? Maybe that's why mine always looked like a 4th grader's project! LOL

Re: Picture of my first attempt at my wedding scrapbook!
what I usually do is stamp my image in a dark color....black or navy or deep purple, then I use the markers or pencils to color in the different parts of the stamped image. Or you can take different color markers and color on the stamp itself the different colors for the different sections. If you have a stamp that has alot of detail you use a very fine color marker soyou can get in the the section you want to color.
I hope that explained it a little!

I have spent a small fortune so far on supplies, but I really love it. I have gotten a ot of stuff on ebay too. I have done a little rubber stamping, but not with multiple colors yet. I bought a few Anna Griffin stamps, they're really pretty. I used rubber stamps for the title on this page.

Natasha, you'll have to plan another trip up or we can have an online class/party! Teri-that was just regular rubber stamps on card stock with vellum behind it. Did you glue down today? Shamma-here another Paris page for you

Re: Picture of my first attempt at my wedding scrapbook!
ok, my next investment is stamps! I bought cut-out lettering at Michaels but I hate it next to all my Layouts.
I did start to glue down the vellum but I used too much and now you can see the wet spots underneath the vellum I tested the vellum and glue last night but only used a few drops. I have a glue stick that seems to work well in moderation. Worst case I'll go back and get more vellum - I didn't glue anything else down yet so I'm ok!

Teri, get vellum tape, it works great & is clear. I'm just starting to do computer journaling now & I'm loving it. I still use some sticker type letters, stamps & computer fonts.
