The colder the better in our house! But we are strange!

We keep it at 70* when we’re home and 60* at night or when we’re not home.

But at 70* I’m still freezing and ALWAYS have my Snuggie and our Jets blanket on.

Every house is different because some are drafty from old windows or bad seals. But anyway we keep our home at night (bedtime)68 - during regular hours we usually keep it at 72/75 degrees. Dependingupon how cold it is out. HTH

The thermostat in our apartment is marked 1-10...
We usually keep it at about 3...cause our apartment is a suana!!

If we had a normal temperature guage, I'd probably keep it at 72-73...I'm always cold.

We have been in our house almost a year and we still have a constant fight about the thermostat. I am always freezing and DH is always hot, so its a constant battle that never ends. When I am home I have it on 70, but when we go to sleep we put it down to 67. When we are not home we have it on 67.

if you ask me i like it about 80-85!!LOL!! but DH rarely ever turns the heat on!!
I say 70-72 is normal lower during the day while you are at work or at night sleeping

i have my heated blanket that i got for christmas if you have one of those you dont really need heat!! lol

Re: please help and solve...

We have it at 66-68 usually...70 when it's really cold, and 62-64 when we're not home, though lately I've been forgetting that. I could stand for it to be much warmer, but we've already gotten a talking to from our landlords, so we try to be conservative.

Re: please help and solve...

standard is 68.....thats what is considered normal in the heating industry.

We keep ours at 67 and then change from there depending on the weather.

Re: please help and solve...

My thermostat has an automatic eco setting on it so M-Su from 8am-6pm it is 62. Then from 6pm-10pm it is 70. Them from 10pm-6am it is 62. Then from 6am-8am it is 70.

I will raise it to 72 if I am cold but I have to have it set at 62 when I am sleeping because I get soo hot when I sleep.

About 68-70. When the landlord has the wood burning stove on upstairs we turn the heat down to about 65.

Daytime - 68
Nighttime - 64

My mother thinks I'm crazy for keeping it at 68 but I'd rather have it cooler than feel like i'm in an oven

Re: please help and solve...

during the day when we are home it's anywhere from 67-68. At night esp if it's going into the teens or single digits I always bump it up to 70. If it's not getting lower than 20's I bump it up to 69. Even at a law enforcement discounted rate, w/ a 250 gal tank - oil is frickin expensive!

PS - we turn down heat to 64-65 if we leave the house.

Re: please help and solve...

I have issues with heat.

I usually leave it on 65-67.. but at night I shut it off completely. I dont care if its below zero outside I can not have heat on when I sleep.
