If you can get a digital thermostat I definitely think they're worth it. Ours is set to about 67 while we're home (1st thing in the morning and then in the afternoon and evening. At night and during the day when we're not home it goes down to about 55 I think, which our oil guy said was fine. Thanks to the digital settings, it's always pretty toasty by the time we get home or wake up and it's not wasting at other times. We also have a woodburning stove and have a pretty draft free house bc DH has gone nuts with insulation!

Re: please help and solve...
we have radiant heating, so when it gets hot, it stays hot! we usually keep the downstairs (living room, kitchen, bathroom) at 70 and the upstairs at 68...if we get cold upstairs, we turn it up to 70

Same here! Plus I always have to have a blanket on me no matter what the season so it helps to have it on the cooler side.

we keep it at 63. Cold I know but it cost too much if we turn it up. We use lots of blankets if it gets too cold

Re: please help and solve...
the den is between 70-72 when we are in it. It goes down to 65 at night.
Most of the house we keep between 66-68. Except when I am cold I shoot it up to 70.
My room gets to about 70 in the morning for getting dressed, is 68 the rest of the day and goes down to 66 at night when we are sleeping.
We have a very efficient heating system and DH works in the oil industry so we don't mind using it, lol. And oil is cheaper then the cost of the electric blankets and space heaters I would use otherwise.
